I must admit that this has been a complicated picture for me, perhaps a challenge, because the original photo is really bland and insipid, without any contrast, low color and not too nice scenery. Only the Cathedral stands out from the rest. Absolutely white sky and a light mist, turned this photography into one of these that we usually leave it in the file without any pretensions.
But I like challenges and I decided to try to bring to light all that the image contains but it does not show at first.
This Colegiata- Basilica manresana, was built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries but has had several additions and reconstructions and turned it into a mixture of styles.
Manresa is in a great plain, so this iconic building is visible from many kilometers. It is the backside, but I think it is enough to get an idea of its grandeur and elegance.

Monemvasia is a uniquely preserved medieval town that is carved into the majestic grey rock like a sculpture. By land, there is only one way in, via a causeway, as the origin of its name (one entrance) implies. The “Gibraltar of the East” or a “stone ship” about to set sail, as the famous Greek poet Yannis Ritsos described his birthplace, beckons you for a journey through time, wandering through vaulted alleyways and past churches and aristocratic mansions.
Take a swim in its crystal-clear waters and sample its delicious cuisine and legendary wine. Following in the footsteps of knights, pirates, crusaders and emperors, who all fell under the spell of this mythical place in the Peloponnese, time will stand still and you’ll become one with history.
Castle at Little Round Top in Gettysburg Battlefield, Pennsylvania (PA).
The “castle” is the monument to the 12th and 44th New York Volunteers on Little Round Top. The castle was dedicated on July 3, 1893 and is the largest regimental monument at Gettysburg.
The tower is 44 feet (13.41 m) high & the interior chamber is 12 feet (3.66 m) square, dimensions that represent the two regiments.
Little Round Top is the smaller of two rocky hills south of Gettysburg, PA. It was the site of an unsuccessful assault by Confederate troops on July 2, 1863, the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg, during the American Civil War.
The battle at Little Round Top subsequently became one of the most well-known actions at Gettysburg, and of the entire war.
Considering that this is buried under snow right now and was built Civilian Conservation Corp in 1934 the Summerland Group Shelter is in great shape. There are only three of these remaining in Mount Rainier National Park according to Wiki including my previous offering of Indian Bar, and the North Mowich Trail Shelter. I must have missed that one...
Mount Rainier towers top left and a vast valley flows out in front. A beautiful place to visit if you are ever in the area. :-)
The view behind it in comments.
Old wool barn at Townend, Troutbeck, Windermere in the Lake District, UK. Dates back to 1666. It is Grade II listed.
This morning the hills were shrouded in mist. As you come down the hill, the barn appears looking historic and majestic, full of character.
