We are lucky in that the bad graffiti artists have not scarred the older stone and brick buildings in Guelph. In fact most alleys are rather neat and well maintained!

This 19th-century limestone building in North Cork originally served the Great Southern & Western Railway line. It has been restored and re-purposed as a bed-and-breakfast home, complete with a large, modern plate glass window for guests to look through at breakfast.

A person dressed in white protective clothing and blue gloves leans out of an open window to clean the exterior frame. They use a long-handled tool to reach the edges of the stone building. This meticulous maintenance task takes place against the backdrop of a historic masonry facade.

The little streets and stone hauses give to Trancoso, Portugal, a wonderful atmosphere.

I found this in Algonquin park in Newburgh one day when I was smoking some weed. I have no idea who Miss Spade is, but for some reason i took a photo of this. The building was constructed by George Washington's army in the revolutionary war around 1775 or so. There are dozens of these stone structures scattered around the park, many of them scribbled over with graffiti. What can i say? This is Newburgh we're talking about.

Fleischhacker Estate

Location: Deddington, Oxfordshire, England.

Deddington goes back many years. After the Norman conquest of England in 1066, William the Conqueror's step-brother Odo, Bishop of Bayeux, held the manor of Deddington. Odo had Deddington Castle built in what is now the east of the town. The castle was almost completely demolished in the 14th century.

In scale, the 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 2,146, Deddington would be classified as a village, but it has a town centre with a market place and the local football team is called Deddington Town FC..

Old stone building above NYMR between Moorgates & Fen Bog on The North Yorkshire Moors.

First United Methodist Church, 1115 S Boulder, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Built 1925-1926

built in 1880 of locally quarried sandstone and designed by Colonial Architect, James Barnet

Saw this building on the way to Mt. Magazine last week and I thought I should get back there to shoot it. It's a beautiful building. Unfortunately, you can't shoot it from across the street due to trees and power lines so I had to go fisheye.

From their home page:

The cornerstone was laid in 1902. Stone for the new church was hauled by parishioners from a local quarry in horse-drawn wagons. John Freeze was the stone mason who supervised the men of the parish in setting the stone around the wooden church. When the stonework was completed the wood was removed through the doors and windows of the church.

On June 12, 1904, Sacred Heart Parish with great pride and joy celebrated its 25th anniversary and the dedication of the new church of native stone.

8.Crain Communications Building is a 39-story, 582 foot (177 m) skyscraper located at 150 North Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, Illinois.[1] It was also known as the Smurfit–StoneBuilding and the Stone Container Building and was formerly called the Associates Center.[2] Construction began in 1983 and was completed in 1984. The building, noted for its unusually slanted facade, was designed by Sheldon Schlegman of A. Epstein and Sons. The building has 39 floors of tenant space and the two spires at the top cover the main roof and HVACequipment. Although the building looks as though it is split down the middle, the two sides are only slightly disjointed until nearing the top, where there is a gap between them. At times, its slanted roof—which has been likened to a skyscraper slashed with a knife—displays local sports slogans on its face, such as "GO BEARS" and "GO SOX".[3][4] It also displayed "VOTE 2008" during the 2008 election day rally at Grant Park.[3]At the time of its construction the Crain Communications Building was considered to be a smart building, with sophisticated environmental and security controls. Three years after its completion, the building played a role in the Touchstone Pictures film Adventures in Babysitting. The building is also modeled in EA's SimCity 4, as well as being destroyed in the film Transformers: Dark of the Moon and in the videogame Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. The building name was changed to the Crain Communications Building in March 2012, after Crain Communications moved its headquarters there.[5] It is popularly referred to as the Diamond Building or the Vagina Building (from the locally popular but apocryphal story that, with its prominent vertical slit up the front, the building was designed to be a yonic counter to the phallicism of most skyscrapers)

Photographed along the Tintagel to Boscastle Coastal Walk, Cornwall, England.

The homestead is on an historic site on the York-Williams Rd. Staunton Springs were named by J.S. Roe in the 1840s in honour of a member of his party, Sergeant John Staunton, during a survey of the route.

The Homestead is an old fashioned stone house, which incorporated materials from an earlier police station at the spring and includes one storeroom originally built for a police groom.

David Grainger took up the property and built the first part of the house between 1851 and 1856

July 3, 2023 - Sculpture "Fiel Contraste" by Ramón Conde (2010)

"The sculptural group is located in the place where the Alhóndiga or municipal grain market was in the Middle Ages. The central statue recalls the medieval Civil Servant (hired by the town hall) who, at the entrance to the walls of Pontevedra, near the Bastida Tower, faithfully contrasted with his scales the weights and measures of the goods that were to be sold in the city.

Until the 16th century, the Alhóndiga was located where the Pontevedra City Hall is today. At the entrance to the Alhóndiga, the Fiel Contraste was responsible for checking the weights and measures of all the goods that arrived there to be sold. The taxes on the market depended on the verification of the weight of bread or cereals or the measures of wine. The disappearance of this profession occurred with the unification of weights and measures brought about by the Bourbon administration, with the appearance of the metric system and, finally, with the inauguration of the current City Hall in 1880.

The commercial and fishing boom in Pontevedra had boosted the holding of markets in the city, notably the Feira Franca granted to Pontevedra in 1467 by King Henry IV of Castile, when the city was the main port in Galicia." Previous description: www.wikiwand.com/en/The_Fiel_contraste
