Taking the stock back north after the inaugural InterCity tour yesterday, 90002 leads 5Z94 Acton Lane Reception Sidings to Crewe Holding Sidings.

We keep it clean, and the animals seem to love it, because they leave us generous tips all around our yard......

Stock Ghyll Force is a picturesque waterfall, reached through Stock Ghyll Woods, a short distance from the town of Ambleside in the Lake District. The waterfall drops around 70 feet into a bowl shaped pool. This is a photo of the first part of the waterfall.

Stock Ghyll is a tributary of the River Rothay and descends through a series of waterfalls to the centre of Ambleside.

The ghyll once powered twelve watermills. The mills closed long ago, and most have now been demolished or been converted for other uses.

My first time up close with one of these.

57603 'Tintagel Castle' gently propels the coaching stock for the overnight 2145 Penzance to London Paddington sleeper towards Penzance station on 10th June 2024.

I had expected this train to be hauled into Penzance station and was expecting to shoot the train being hauled.

Unfortunately the train locomotive now propels the 2km into Penzance station from Long Rock depot, so I had to settle for this 'going away' view.

Penzance station (and that evening's 2015 train to Plymouth) is visible on the far left. The glinting body of water is part of Mount's Bay, shimmering on this still June evening.

I have digitally turned the locomotive's tail lights off and turned on the headlights.

Taken with the use of a pole.

In 1915 a man called Seth Mosley produced a very thorough account of the birds of the Huddersfield District. Back then, the only record of a Stock Dove was one shot on Dalton Bank in 1901, but on questioning the recorder it proved to be just a Woodpigeon. In the early 19th century this species was limited to south and east England, but through the second half of the 19th century and early 20th century it slowly but steadily expanded its range, but during the 1950s and 60s it crashed again, disappearing completely from some areas. In the Huddersfield area now it is a common breeding bird that I can often see from my garden, though usually in flight. Its call is a distinctive series of deep, gruff, double "coos" which are unlike all other British pigeons.

It is often confused with feral pigeons and juvenile Woodpigeons (without the white neck patch) but Stock Dove has very short wing bars. Stock Doves nest in holes, often in trees, hence the name as stock is the trunk of a tree. But it also nests in holes in buildings, and even rabbit holes. They are commonest in wooded farmland but I even find them nesting in old buildings high on the Pennine Moors. Its scientific name is simply the Latin (Columba) and Greek (oenas) words for pigeon. Because they eat dry seeds they need to drink a lot, and this paddling individual had been taking a drink on the edge of a reservoir.

This bird was landing at the top of the cliffs at Kingsdown. Shot taken from the bottom.

The stocks evidently did well!

47237 is seen attracting the attention of a small family as it passes through Robroyston with 5Z47 from Carnforth to Fort William. Behind it is a rake of Mk.1 coaching stock that will swap out one of the rakes currently being used on the Jacobite services between Fort William & Mallaig.

The headboard mounted to the front reads "65A On Tour"

One of the first flight shots Ive got with my new OM1 Mkii. Pretty impressed with how quick it focused and locked on.

Shot minutes before sunset from the middle of the river covered by ice.

Stock Dove - Columba Denas

Was out shooting last week at the Botanic Garden and this European lady mentioned to me that there is this golden bird in that tree yesterday. Strangely that is the very same tree where I used to find the Stock Bill. So I headed that way and found him preaching on the branch to catch his fishes. So I spent the next 2 days taking pics of this gorgeous birdie.

Thank you my friends and appreciate your visits, favourites & comments

Wishing you a beautiful day.

Des images générées par l'IA du conflit israélo-palestinien vendues sur Adobe Stock !

I-generated images of the Israel-Palestine conflict being sold on Adobe Stock !

_____________________________________________PdF__

As fears rise over fake imagery generated by artificial intelligence flooding the internet, one of the world’s leading stock photo websites is openly selling AI images of the Israel-Hamas war !

A quick search on Adobe Stock for “Israel-Palestine conflict” brings up dozens of AI-generated images purporting to show the Middle East conflict; in fact, the overwhelming majority of results are AI.

Adobe announced that it is accepting AI-generated submissions from generators such as Midjourney, DALL-E, and Stable Diffusion last year and are unique in that they are the only major stock photo website to have such a policy.

In June, a report from Stock Performer suggested that AI images are outperforming real photos on Adobe Stock.

The analytic website for stock photographers found that the average revenue per image per month for AI images is a whopping four and a half times bigger than photos or any other format ...
