The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147. The most important religious building in Vienna, St. Stephen's Cathedral, has witnessed many important events in Habsburg and Austrian history and has become one of the city's most recognizable symbols with its multi-colored tile roof. It has 256 stairs from the top to the bottom
This Grand Old Building was built in Scarborough in 1936 .It was the former Odeon Cinema ..In 1996 it was converted to its present role as a Theatre .
Can't take all the gloom, can't look at the newspaper, can't listen to the radio anymore. But for these two, I've got time.

While my most recent 4,500 mile overloading trip, I was trying to escape a smokey area. However, I ended up driving the entire day in much heavier smoke in the mountains.. forcing me to wear a mask in the car.

Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942, in Oxford and died on March 14, 2018, in Cambridge. He was a British theoretical physicist and cosmologist who became famous for his work on black holes and the origin of the universe. One of his most important ideas is that black holes emit radiation, now known as Hawking radiation. In the 1960s, he was diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease ALS, which gradually left him almost completely paralyzed. Nevertheless, he continued his research at the University of Cambridge and held the prestigious Lucasian Chair of Mathematics for many years. As an author, he became world famous primarily for his book "A Brief History of Time", in which he explained complex questions about space and time in a way that was understandable even to people without a scientific background.
What stuck me in this scene was the presence of the elements reaching forward toward the viewer against the block elements horizontally across the back of the frame. —- and the clarity (which should not be confused with sharpness) communicates well through that organization and crisp bright light and interwoven colors.

My second posted photo of
the great Mr. Stills. This was
also taken over breakfast
at the famed Polo Lounge
in the Beverly Hills Hotel. I
interviewed and photographed
him there for American Songwriter
magazine - and my piece and
photos were due - actually
overdue (I have a whole lot
of procrastination to get to,
and it takes a lot of my time) -
so I worked on this one
yesterday to send in.
Stills didn't like the
overly-elaborate lunch menu
we were handed at 11 in the
morning - offering us heavy
dishes like Osso Buco. He asked
if he could have a breakfast menu
and the waiter said,
"Of course, you can have
anything you want, Mr. Stills."
I think he's accustomed to
hearing that.
We spoke about his classic songs-
we laughed -
we ogled women together -
he ate Eggs Benedict, which he
said was bad for him but he
loved -
and we talked about the recent
release of "Just Roll Tape,"
a remarkable album of a 1968
solo recording session he
did in which he performed
for the first time solo versions of
classics such as
"Suite: Judy Blue Eyes"
and "Wooden Ships."
My interview with him
and photos will
be in the next issue of
American Songwriter; the
current one has my cover
story on James Taylor, with
one of my photos -
but most of the pictures are
classic old ones taken by my
good pal
Henry Diltz.
This is the interior of St Stephen church in the village of Aldwark, north west of York.
I’m not religious, never have been and I don’t see any reason why I would be in the future, but I love churches. Where ever I am, if there is a church and it’s open I will always go in, I may sit awhile, or I may just walk round it and leave, there was one south of York that had tea and coffee facilities where you could help yourself, so I did :-) and I always find it obligatory to fill in the visitors book. I don’t know when the fascination started, many years ago, but it doesn’t seem to be diminishing as I get older. It’s always a disappointment when I walk up the path to the church door to find it locked on occasions, unfortunately churches aren’t immune from mindless crime and it seems as a last resort they have to lock them, fortunately there are still plenty that are open.
DT2 is seen operating a 41X service to Knocksedan on St. Stephen's Green on the 31st August 2017. 2017 was the final year of DT operation. Though cluttered, the background is topical for 2017 with the opening of the Luas Cross City line to Boombridge.
