Villa Méditerranée Marseille, France - Stefano Boeri architetti - 2013
This building that touches the sky, land, and sea is a project of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and aims to encorage cooperation in the Mediterranean while raising awareness of issues that affect this area – now and in the future. Aerial and underwater exhibition areas feature a diverse programme of events, including debates, performances, film screenings and concerts. An exceptional building with spaces above and under the ground With a spectacular 36-meter overhang suspended 14 meters above the sea level. It's an exhibition space with permanent and temporary exhibitions and above all a place of meeting and multi-purpose interactive features an auditorium, conference rooms and a documentation center also will be a place of cultural exchange between the shores of the Mediterranean art. The idea that governs the project is to make entering the sea inside the building: the water becomes part of the project in an artificial harbor that becomes central space between the building and the underground part suspended at 2.25 meters deep. The Villa is designed to be a place that has relations with the different landscapes that surround it (land, city, sea): the statement in front of the high walls of the Fort Saint-Jean sober, elegant, compact, and the facade overlooking the Mediterranean.

“We are taking this action in response to escalating threats from south of the border. Most recently, U.S. President Donald Trump made new threats against Canada’s dairy and lumber industries – and there are reports he has been musing about redrawing the border.
