Continuing with the Tri-State Corner restoration project, on Friday January 27, 2017, 18 participants from the BLM, Washington County Utah, Utah Council of Land Surveyors, Nevada Association of Land Surveyors, and W.W. Clyde Corp., gathered for a second time.

The work this day focused on removing the 1901 State corner and setting the foundation for the new State corner. As the photos show, 1901 GLO Surveyor Carpenter “repositioned and repurposed” the 1870 GLO Surveyor James corner. Carpenter moved it to its current location, inverted and remarked the James monument as the new true position.

Foundations were also begun for 4 flagpoles, but the crew ran out of water for mixing the concrete by the end of the day. The 1901 Carpenter corner will be displayed in the Washington County Administrative Offices in St. George, Utah.

Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park, also known simply as Honeyman State Park, is in Lane County of the U.S. state of Oregon. It lies 3 miles (5 km) south of Florence along Highway 101, the coastal highway. The 27,212-acre (11,012 ha) Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area adjoins the park to the west. Many amenities are available, including over 200 campsites, all-terrain vehicle access, swimming, fishing and sandboarding.

Originally named Camp Woahink, the park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and was later renamed in honor Jessie M. Honeyman (1852–1948) of Portland. As president of the Oregon Roadside Council, Honeyman worked with Samuel Boardman, Oregon's first Superintendent of State Parks in the 1920s and 1930s, to preserve Oregon coastal lands.

Several of the structures built by the CCC, including the camp store, three picnic shelters, and the administrative building, comprise the Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park Historic District. The campground was added in the 1950s. The Lake Woahink Seaplane Base is on Woahink Lake, southeast of the park, and Camp Cleawox, a Girl Scout camp, is across Cleawox Lake and northwest of the park.

VS (22) Minnesota. Iowa State downs Minnesota 195.975 - 195.150

This set was taken at the abandoned Tennessee State Prison, which opened in February of 1898. My friend and I did not know it was such off limits as we got a little scare from a guard for being on the grounds. Apparently the old prison is pretty popular as I learned movies such as The Green Mile and The Last Castle were shot here along with VH1's Celebrity Paranormal. You can find more info out at wikipedias site: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_State_Prison

This shot is of a corridor along the left side in between the prison wall and one of the out buildings behind the main prison block.

State Capitol, SLC, UT

The first capitol building of Utah was built in Filmore, but it was only used for that purpose for one year. Later the Salt Lake City Council Hall served as meeting place for the legislature. The statehood was granted to Utah in 1896.

The Salt Lake City and County Building served as the capitol building until 1916, the year when the present building was finished.

The Capitol, which is 404 feet (123 m) long, 240 feet (73 m) wide was built between 1912 and 1916. The granite of the building and the copper of the dome are both from Utah. An extensive and expansive reconstruction took place between 2004 and 2008.

In the movie Legally Blonde 2 Utah State Capitol was used for exterior and interior shots of the U.S. Capitol.

This is a stairwell. Note the "cage" surrounding the stairs. It's a little dark, but you can make it out. Stairways that patients used on a regular basis were usually caged in to prevent people from hurting themselves.

Through the windows you can see the Bonner Building which started life as a medical facility, but later became the main building on campus after the Kirkbride was largely abandoned.
