***UPDATE***10/9/12 The kitchen in Mike and Maria's Wrigleyville home is almost complete (and it HAS to be before Thanksgiving), and this classic is gonna add to the drama. You continue to give lean on me for smart choices, and I am glad that I a part of all of that. Thank you. Immensely. The lovefest continues with this massively adored American line. Like Audrey Hepburn, this one is classic beauty.
California bragging rights will be on the line on Friday, October 15, when unbeaten Salinas, Calif. star Eloy Perez battles Rialto standout Dominic Salcido in the main event of TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” from the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in the Palm Springs, Calif. area.
Also hitting the ring for some fall fight action will be Paramount, California’s rising featherweight star, Charles Huerta and Coachella’s Randy Caballero who own a combined record of 18-1 with 12 knockouts. Those kind of numbers mean the fists will be flying on October 15 at Fantasy Springs.
Up and coming heavyweight stars will also see action with undefeated Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell and 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist Deontay Wilder featured in separate bouts.
Perez vs. Salcido, a 10-round NABO Junior Lightweight Championship fight which headlines a night of world-class professional boxing, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate with the main event being presented in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions. Doors open at 6:00pm PT on fight night, the first bell rings at 7:00pm PT and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / 8:30pm PT (10:30pm CT).
Tickets, priced at $25, $35 and $45, go on sale on Wednesday, September 22 at 10:00am PT and will be available for purchase at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, by calling (800) 827-2946 or online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com

These standout Hummers visit us only in late summer, arriving around the beginning of July. Other more northern breeding Hummers also pass through NM. The Calliope is regular, but not common at lower altitudes (We,re at 8600 ft. msl.). I have rarely spotted them up here this high.

I thought this tree was just beautiful, especially with the fused limbs. I am not very good at tree identification, so this is just a guess, but I think this may be the Smooth-barked Apple (Angophora costata) although I am open to other suggestions! My photo shows a lone red leaf in a gray background. It represents the theme because showing your voice lets you stand out and become strong. That strength let the leaf stand, even when times were gray and gloomy. And even when all of the other leaves had fallen.

A standout performance art piece by monica jahan bose called sublime virtue. the piece was to raise the issue of the exploitation of girls and women in developing countries with the bed representing the freedom to choose whom to love. the bed was set in the iconic intersection of water and washington streets. it was a crowd favorite and bose displayed her cell phone number and an invitation to text her with comments and questions .
