Another from my Theodore Wirth Park series. I have long wanted to capture the beauty of dense foliage, and have always had a lot of trouble doing so. I think I am getting closer.
A few abstract pieces as the winter landscape disappeared on the weekend of this hike. Along multiple shorelines we can see leaves and debris submerged under a thin layer of ice. Fascinating patterns emerged. I rather like the chaos and random beauty of nature.

i found this happy house whilst wandering in a new area of colonia san antonio...it was a definite standout from its neighbors....the owner went wild with color application -- bright turquoise, chartreuse, yellow, pink, lavender...woo-hoo!

Though fall color at Trillium Lake is not widespread, there are some nice pockets! The fog was a nice touch too.
If it were a perfect world, I would gladly leave my normally unobtrusive watermark off in a corner. But sadly, it is not. And so I am forced to now place it front & center to discourage dishonest people from image theft and cropping watermarks. My apologies to image loving fans everywhere...I trust you will understand. Help fight this by reporting such abuses immediately!
thanks to ‘bald-birdman’ who reminded me of this fella
not a great shot of him but he is such a beautiful bird I wanted to post him anyway
also there was a lot of discussion and shots of white animals and birds on autumnwatch the other week – and there a little white squirrel in the studio who was bullied for being different! - aw!
he seemed shyer than the others and only ventured down to eat in the second sitting
this is one of gigrin’s kites – and hes a white red kite! which is called “leucistic”
(from web site – “leucism differs from albinism in that pigment is not entirely absent - in most cases it is at least retained in the eyes. this leucistic individual is mainly white, and has blue eyes - not to be confused for albino which means the lack of colouring evidenced by pink eyes)
