The standout foliage on this oak tree won't last much longer.
Two days later: prediction fulfilled; sadly, almost all the leaves had fallen from the tree.
James White, a contractor of many historic buildings in Carberry, Manitoba built this standout, small-community, 2 ½ story Queen Anne Revival house for his family in 1900. The contrast in color between the red and decretive white brick are stunning in addition to the white of the wrap-around two-story veranda.
The exterior detailing was more ornate when the house was built, especially the main floor veranda with its arches, the veranda spindlework supports, other detailing between the two verandas to avoid the current smooth appearance of the horizontal board, and the bargeboards. The current restored version of the house is now is an element of the Carberry Plains Museum.
This stunning Floribunda is a standout in the landscape with an array of colors and very healthy foliage. Garden Delight’s multicolored and high-centered buds will open to fully double, cupped blooms. The delightful, yellow center is surrounded by stunning pink to red edges, and the more sunlight it receives the more intensely pink it gets. Her coloring will vary according to climate and she thrives best in zones 5-9.
A Kordes rose, bred by Tim Hermann (Germany, 2001). ... Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes, "Garden Delight" is well-named! This bed is one of the most colourful in the Stanley Park Rose Garden.
This lovely blue Robin's egg stood out against the pine needled floor of my yard. There were at least two pair of Robins nesting nearby my house. (It kind of reminded me of PacMan!😂 Remember?)
A standout variety that produces brilliant pink, perfectly formed blooms, over dark glossy green, healthy foliage; well suited for landscaping, for containers, or a low flowering hedge
Slash’s standout bike is the 2007 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special—a liquid-cooled street-legal dragster. Its Revolution V-Twin 1130 cc engine churns out 121 hp, launching the fat 240 mm rear tire off the line with explosive force. He added custom drag-style bars and forward foot pegs to perfect its “lean, mean” look and feel.

I guess this tree figured it had to do something to get people to take a picture of it.
If you haven't yet been to Muir Woods, it's worth it - just try to go on a weekday. My only option was Saturday morning and the entire world was there - truly, I must have heard a dozen different languages - but all the same it was kind of nice to be around people, on such a solo trip. I went in search of two The Shots, but kept an open mind and this turned out to be one of my favorite photos from the morning.
I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.

Fall foliage scene near the manor house "Westbrook," at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park on Long Island in New York, as shot by my beautiful wife. Both Sylvia and I spotted Jess’ standout hair from the other side of the street and after a brief introduction on our intent, we were all walking down a side street looking for a suitable background.
The sun was out and with no shade in sight we made good use of the scrim to provide just the right amount of shade. Sylvia was brilliant standing on the tips of her toes and stretching right out holding the scrim in place over Jess’ head, doing her best not get in the frame.
Jess was an absolute natural in front of the camera, taking directions with ease and looking fabulous and relaxed no matter what angle I shot her from. To say that I was captivated by her natural beauty and poise is an understatement.
Believe it or not Jess had just stepped off a plane from Cape Town, South Africa only a few hours earlier to visit and work with her brother. She had the most intriguing accent and at the end of the shoot we chatted about how we thought she should look into doing some modelling work.
This shot is my favourite from the dozen or so I shot and think that it really shows her style. On a technical note, I have played around a little with the overall softness of this image, pulling down the details and moving away from the tack sharp portraits that I normally post. Personally, I think it suits Jess’ look. I have posted the sharper, less processed version for you to compare. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts… positive or negative… I can handle it!

I snapped this shot back in February 2015 – it's the China Central Television Headquarters in Beijing! Designed by the legendary Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. The building has got that funky loop shape known as 'The Big Pants.' A real standout in the skyline of Beijing
1958 was a standout year for Plymouth, and the Fury in particular became a pop culture icon thanks to the movie “Christine” (1983). The real Fury was a rare, high-performance sub-series of the Belvedere, with only 5,303 units produced that year.
The Fury (and its Belvedere roots) featured dramatic vertical tailfins, emblematic of late-1950s American car design. These fins weren’t just aesthetic—they were part of Chrysler’s push to make cars look futuristic and fast. Unlike the red Belvedere in “Christine,” the actual ’58 Fury came only in buckskin beige with gold anodized aluminum trim. The red paint was a creative liberty taken for the film. Chrome detailing was everywhere—grille, bumpers, side moldings.
The Fury packed a 5.2L (318 cu in) V8 engine with twin four-barrel carburetors, producing 290 horsepower. Optional upgrades included a 5.7L Golden Commando V8 pushing up to 315 hp. Plymouth introduced torsion bar front suspension in 1957, which carried into 1958. This gave the car a smoother ride and better handling than many competitors. Buyers could opt for a 3-speed manual, PowerFlite, or TorqueFlite automatic transmission—cutting-edge for its time.
The car’s sinister personality in Stephen King’s novel and, later, in John Carpenter’s film cemented its mythos. Although technically a Belvedere, the car was modified to resemble the Fury for dramatic effect. The car’s cinematic legacy has elevated its desirability far beyond its original market status or aesthetic appeal. Suddenly, the Fury wasn’t just a car—it was a character. Collectors began seeking out Furys and Belvederes to modify them into Christine tributes, driving up prices and demand. Pristine models fetch upwards of $60,000–$78,000.
