Silhouetted heads and raised arms fill the foreground while blue and green stage light washes across a steel-trussed tent at Coachella. The performers are small and distant, so the crowd and light carry the frame.

A dense crowd, silhouetted hands raised, faces a bright white stage beneath an arched steel truss canopy. Haze and linear light strips frame the performer at the Coachella festival grounds in Indio.

A dusk crowd faces a festival stage lit by pink screens and scattered purple lights, with a green beam cutting across the sky. The sodium-blue evening fades over the silhouetted rig and palm trees at the edge of the grounds.

The band's name glows in warm yellow letters across the back screen as the stage lights come up over a dense crowd at dusk. Palm trees and a blue evening sky frame the stage at the Empire Polo Grounds.

Great performance from this stunning band on Saturday

This was a handheld shot of a scene from the cruise's stage production named "Blue Planet". How many performers that were actually on the branches can you spot? 😁

For me it's just a 'lucky shot' made in a theatre. Stagelight and smoke did the work with the discoball.

I did a little standard editing and made the picture b&w.

Tnx for all your views/comments/favs; it brought my picture to Explore #4 at June 19, 2010

Before the show began... The backstage has always been Ruby's favorite part. Just minutes before her performance, when either everyone else is minding their own business or they are all gone, Ruby likes to sit on the floor, next to her chest of toys and curiosities, enjoying the silence and that sweet tension before the real excitement begins. While the backstage was bathed in the colorful stage lights filtering from behind the half-ajar doors, she slowly tied her laces and whispered to me:

"You know, it's all about the anticipation, before it all happens. I love to be alone in these moments, using all my senses to feel the lights, the sounds and all the energy here tonight, capturing us and the audience in the unique magical world of the show, that won't exist tomorrow or any other night. Then, I feel so grateful to be able to see and feel all of this. And then, I realize that I am the star of the show..."

The prettiest stage lights were nothing compared to the smile on her face when she said that last sentence ^_^ She got up, all ready, sweet like an angel, and she ran. To the stage, to her happiness...♥
