The Scottish Forum of Industrial Progress
For the Urban Building project as part of Stage 4, I became interested in the industrial history and present identity of industry in Glasgow, and Scotland as a whole.
The Scottish Forum of Industrial Progress aims to create a place for people to reconnect with the country’s industrial heritage. Here they can learn skills, study, receive advice, experience displays and processes of the products of industry and engage directly with business leaders and decision makers, promoting a culture where a rising industrial climate directly benefits the community.
The proposal would also act as a social hub for the growing area of Laureiston, housing events both local and national. The nearby proximity to Glasgow Central station and the M8 link the project with Scotland’s major transport infrastructure, inviting contributors both near and far.
The Sensorium provides a variety of emotive spaces which play host to interactive and performance art in the heart of Glasgow's West End. (Pencil and Ink on paper)
