Have a great weekend

This creative stone structure caught my eye while on a recent walk along the Spirit Trail. Rather difficult to get down low enough to get this framed view of the Vancouver skyline.

Iguazú Falls [...] are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. Together, they make up the largest waterfall in the world.[2] The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River rises near the heart of the city of Curitiba. For most of its course, the river flows through Brazil; however, most of the falls are on the Argentine side. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the border between Argentina and Brazil

Stay safe and thanks for dropping by

Big Rock (also known as either Okotoks Erratic or, by the Blackfoot, as Okotok) likely served as a prominent landmark for Indigenous people.

The Okotoks Erratic is a 16,500-tonne (18,200-ton) boulder that lies on the otherwise flat, relatively featureless, surface of the Canadian Prairies in Alberta [An erratic is a rock or boulder that differs from the surrounding rock and is believed to have been brought from a distance by glacial action].

This massive angular boulder, which is broken into two main pieces, measures about 41 by 18 metres and is 9 m high. It consists of thick-bedded, micaceous, feldspathic quartzite that is light grey, pink, to purplish. Besides having been extensively fractured by frost action, it is unweathered. [...]. Wikipedia

Float homes [...] feature truly waterfront living with ocean or river views at a fraction of the price. Neighbours include herons, sea lions, bald eagles and many other forms of wildlife. While this style of living may not be for everyone, they do come in single family, apartments/condos, custom built or modular, prefabricated options. New models include the usual home amenities such as stainless-steel appliances, heated floors, soaker tubs, on-demand water heaters, and even rooftop decks. They follow stringent building codes, fire safety and environmental standards demanded by local, provincial and federal authorities. (Anne McMullin, Vancouver Courier)

Fascinating to see this "lake" and be able to walk around it. The green in the foreground is exposed seaweed.

Have a lovely Easter Monday and a safe and healthy new week!

Shortly after I took this photo, the sun came out and eventually led to the stunning previously posted sunset (see below).

The Waxing Gibbous on September 29 has an illumination of 95%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On September 29 the Moon is 12.60 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases. Moongiant

The Green Heron returns to Ambleside Park in early April from wintering grounds in the south. The Green Heron flies north each year to mate, nest and raise its young. The bird is a rare sight in Metro Vancouver, and is only found at Ambleside Pond. Ducks, swans and turtles can also be seen in the pond.

May’s full Flower Moon reaches peak illumination at 7:14 A.M. (EDT) on Wednesday, May 26. It will be very close to or below the horizon at this time, so plan to venture outdoors the night before (Tuesday, May 25) or on Wednesday night to get the best view of the bright full Flower Moon! [...].

Unfortunately, cloud cover prevented any chance of seeing the Lunar Eclipse in the early hours of May 26
