My first view of lenticular clouds. Before this, I had only seen pictures of them. Very cool formations.
Inventive use of stacked terra cotta tiles as rainscreen.
My memory is hazy, but I think that these tiles were manufacturing defects recycled by Bareham as they could not be used as a roofing material.

The old stackers from Portal 37 are slowly deteriorating in the background of the more modern Lynch 3 flood loader as R614 is seen loading below. If you pay close attention, you can spot the antifreeze mechanism built by Jerry Williams in action; this contraption sprays the car with Antifreeze to prevent the coal from freezing to the side of the hoppers. Definitely one of my new favorite angles for sure.

An experiment in Expanded/Stacked DOF, just to see how it works. And, me wanting to make an odd abstract.
The grate is about 30ft above the water below, which at this low tide, is about 4ft deep. By changing the focus points for each shot, then combined as a stacked image in CS5's magic, I've got sharpness all the way through the image.
Now, I'm going to have to try this on some macro stuff.
I love the well worn beauty of old books
Haven't yet found the time to complete the Beyond Layers assignment of photographing favorite books...but thought this older photo I took a couple of months ago would also communicate my love of old books...
