Yesterday when I came home my flat was freezing. There were only a couple of logs of firewood left and my trusty oil heater was in the storage room and I couldn't find the key to the padlock. Fortunately, mum let me and Aurora fill two big bags with wood at her place, and a neighbour helped me wrench the lock off the door, so now we're warm and snug, heater turned on and wood stack beautifully full.
It was so nice coming home to a warm home this evening. Though now we don't really need to light a fire...
Stack of 20 Images....
I shot this with my Pentax K200D using a bellows with a reversed 50mm lens. The Bellows was extended about 3/4 of the way, and the aperture was set to f/11 or so. I finally took John Abbott's advice and used a tripod for a macro shot. In the case of a patient (or asleep) subject, it works wonders! I was able to snap over 40 pictures of this guy -- including a series with minor focal adjustments -- 20 of which contribute to this image. There is a fair amount of artifacting going on here, but considering this is my first stack of more that 4 pictures, and that I did the alignment and focus stack all manually, I think it turned out okay.

Digging through by Ste. Claire archives and posting a few shots from a couple of years ago.
This is standing atop the Ste. Claire and her stacks and the Columbia in the background.
I wish I had some updates on the progress of her restoration, but sadly, things have come to a standstill for months now.
