I have decided to join Nina on her challenge to add a flower photo a day for 365 days.

I couldn't stand it any longer and took the 7D and the 180 mm out for a walk around to my neighbour's house. I was not disappointed.
I love these beautiful flowers. They are some sort of climbing vine and the name escapes me. I will have to delve into my gardening books. I googled (isn't the internet wonderful) and found the name:
Orange Trumpet Creeper
The orange trumpet creeper is a South American native which puts on a spectacular display of brilliant orange flowers from winter through to spring.
A lot of my Flickr contacts are aware of the problems I have had with the Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens I bought back in October. It has since been back to Sigma in Japan to be checked out and I received it back on Monday. After taking around 30 photos with the lens the autofocus has decided not to work once again. I am at a loss to know what to do with it, but I will have to get in touch with Sigma to see what can be done. To say I am diappointed is an understatement as it wasn't a cheap lens. As you can see from the photos, it takes beautiful photos when it is working - these are SOOC only resized in Photoshop. A lesson learnt by me: only buy Canon lenses for Canon cameras.
A spring continues to make itself known by making all the trees green out and filling the creeks and rivers with plenty of rain, photographic opportunities are more and more abundant. I have an idea for a family photo that would be taken in this same location. Everyone would be in the middle of the creek in blue jeans (rolled up of course!) and white shirts. But, before I could convince everyone it was a great idea, I had to show them what the location looks like...photographically. So her it is!?!
Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

Spring is certainly in the air!!
Spring flower...aside from the pollen, this is one of the two most beautiful times of the year. Blooming flowers, growing grass, rejuvenation...spring at it's best!!

Upton Magna - Shropshire
This is the time of year for blossoms, flowers, and blooms along with a lot of beautiful blue skies. Spring is here and I, for one, and extremely happy to see warmer weather and more outdoor activity.
