Don't insist on going where you think you want to go. Ask the way to the spring.

Spring sunshine
Walking in local woods and came across this new growth glowing in a little patch of Spring sunshine. It was lit up like a little torch.
LARGE is best!
At the weekend, spring temperatures await us, the best conditions for a splendid blossom, like here on the Moselle near Mesenich.
Am Wochenende erwarten uns Frühlingstemperaturen, beste Voraussetzungen für eine prächtige Baumblüte, wie hier an der Mosel bei Mesenich.

It amazes me every year, when plants jump start the new season with a full blossom before they even create new leaves to start the energy gathering using photosynthesis.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
I didn't have the right camera or lens to capture this amazing spring properly. Even if I did - the wind was blowing steam right over the boardwalk and it wasn't possible to capture it. So you need the right gear and the right moment and weather conditions to capture this place. With that being said, it was still one of the coolest places in the part and you can see why it is so popular.

This buck was spotted in a field initially at some distance. It strangely seemed to tolerate our presence and happily kept grazing.
However later it moved closer and seemed to be at best partially blind.

We interrupt the cavalcade of birds to recognize the advent of spring in Sugar Land, Texas. My neighborhood mandates 4 live oaks in every front lawn, which gives me cognitive dissonance every year. Live oaks, Quercus virginiana are--utterly wonderful--deciduous evergreens. In the spring, they drop last year's leaves just as the new buds appear. At about the same time, they produce enormous quantities of pollen, dusting every surface, and then drop the spent anthers along with the leaves.
Very weird for this Iowa boy to come outdoors in the warm spring and see the whole earth covered with fallen leaves and anthers. Fall comes in the Autumn, with crisp football weather, doesn't it? No, not here.
Any resemblance to the Minotaur of Greek myth is purely coincidental.
Spring comes back again
and the earth is like a child
who knows poems by heart.
