Spring Color Cherry Blossoms, Oak and blue sky on this bright Spring day come together for a colorful collage.
The spring is almost gone now, the new fresh green and moist atmosphere is unevitably replaced by humid warm, sick drying green and tons of insects. Yep, the summer is coming. Not a good season for the forest photography. But it is neccesary for life as every other season. And the walkies are still superb!
This little herb - chamomile ( Matricaria chamomilla) - really attracts a wide variety of insects. Today I noticed this interesting beetle - the Eurasian bee beetle (Trichius fasciatus). Its name is not accidental, because it definitely looks like a bee, right? Spring by the sea, still cool and with some rain : )

The west side of Michigan is stunning year round. I just had a chance to visit the Grand Haven Lighthouse, absolutely stunning. Even though the temp was 50, the wind made it feel like 20. The shore is frozen, large ice chunks remain far out into the lake. This, is a must see.
Despite the grey sky yesterday, it was possible to make this image in the deep heart of the little forest.
Very quiet there and the only sounds you might hear were a bird or a falling droplet from the branches....
While out looking for Warblers I found this stray Pintail drake enjoying this rainy weather we've been having...
Town houses reflected on the Art Gallery of Ontario building one fine day in Spring. The gallery was packed with viewers for the last weekend of the Leonard Cohen Exhibition.

I rose this morning early as usual, and went to my desk.
But it’s spring,
and the thrush is in the woods,
somewhere in the twirled branches, and he is singing.
And so, now, I am standing by the open door.
And now I am stepping down onto the grass.
I am touching a few leaves.
I am noticing the way the yellow butterflies
move together, in a twinkling cloud, over the field.
And I am thinking: maybe just looking and listening
is the real work.
Maybe the world, without us,
is the real poem.

Another scene from the Roe Valley country park in Limavady....
I loved how the sunlight really made those wee daffs shine and the nice low fence kept the whole thing in perspective :)
Wishing you all a really good weekend and thank you so much for all the brilliant comments on my last upload :)
The violet blossoms are there ...but I'm sure like me, you had to rest your eyes on this old beauty first!
I love the planting combinations at our local RHS Gardens - Hyde Hall. I can lose myself there for hours with my camera - so good for the soul :)
Thanks for all the lovely comments and faves on my images and hope everyone's having a good week.
