My desk needed a little spring cleaning. Not that the coffee splatters won't be back by the next morning, but it's nice to have it fresh for a change. (If only my desk at home were this easy to tackle....)

Engaging in a bit of a shortcut while spring cleaning. A very bad habit of mine. The shortcut, not the cleaning. I'm trying to make the cleaning into a bit more of a habit.

I keep salt, pepper and sugar in these vintage canisters. The tops scrape a little when I unscrew them but at least they are big so I don't have to refill them too often. My grandma gave me the recipe box for Christmas. My ironing board is jammed in an awkward nook. It works for me.

I used Picasa to over expose and bring out the soft colours... This is a duvet that was my grandma hung out after cleaning - it's damp in this photo, but will soon be dry in the winds of Canterbury.

This photo shoot came from a friend of ours talking about looking forward to doing some "spring cleaning." When I went looking for the springs, I also found this celebrity who wanted to participate. Oh nooooooo!

I was giving the garage a clean for the arrival of my mothers new wheels, and this bad boy popped out of the rubble! Only if this baby could talk! I would definitely listen from a safe distance!

Elvirs backyard 37 hives have survived this highly confusing winter so a loss of 8 hives to Elvir ..........we are now working without gloves and doing the smoking to inhibit the Varroa (a tiny Mite).

I had to do a LOT of editing to get this looking not so theme-ish. I'm happy with it now.

My grandpa built this bookshelf, which could use a new coat of paint. Some vintage spice canisters are on top of the bookshelf. Cookbooks and old issues of Everyday food are on the top shelf. A picture of my grandma, who taught me how to cook, is on the middle shelf.
