Friday, July 11th - one of [what feels like] 800 bags and boxes of crap we are culling out of closets and from shelves in prep for a massive garage sale/donation. Of course, all these boxes/bags have to be carried down three flights of stairs [downside is climbing back up the three flights, even with empty hands].
All I can say is my ass had better be smaller after this Spring Cleaning or I am going to be pissed off.
So, I have a lotta books. I cleaned off and rearranged the bookshelf to fit more of them. One of these days I'll consider making a catalogueing scheme. I dunno how it'll work though 'cause sometimes I file by size, sometimes by topic, and sometimes by other things. Since part of classification is to be able to find something again, I'd have to re-classify everything every time I rearranged. Hmmmm....

Elvirs backyard 37 hives have survived this highly confusing winter so a loss of 8 hives to Elvir ..........we are now working without gloves and doing the smoking to inhibit the Varroa (a tiny Mite).
Comes with a 28-105 lens, sooo much better than the stock lens. Buy it for the lens!
Also comes with an attractive carrying strap!
Used very little! Pristine condition. Virginal condition, even!
If you ask nice maybe I'll even throw in the haze filter.
Here's an Amazon link with more info. (It's a different lens than the one i have, however - mine rocks the block, did I mention that already?)

Tangle of cables down the back of the hi-fi unit. Somewhere in that lot there's a stereo pair going nowhere (used to be the third tape loop for recording vinyl to a soundcard but I can't do that anymore...)

Out of the bags and into the bins. Finally. With seven kids and plenty of clothes being saved for this one and that one to grow into, we were overrun with garbage bags of clothing. It's all finally in bins. With labels. Life is sweet.

The first place to get cleaned this year is my corner of the room where my desktop lives. It was getting ridiculous, to the point where I could only sidle in and sit in the chair. Post-cleaning, I can now move in a small circle if I want to (the space wasn't big to begin with).
This corner used to be obscured by a dusty yoga mat (sigh), and piles of papers from my new employee orientation. Most of those went into recycling. It's amazing how much useless paper I have laying around.
On the side of the bookcase are a few things that have been stuck there since high school: a mini movie poster of Cowboy Bebop (which I never saw), little stickers of chinese food, chopsticks, and a fortune cookie, and a photo of the flamingos at the zoo I took when I was in second grade. It's not that great a picture, I just found it lying in my room and stuck it on the shelf with some tape.
None of these things had any real sentimental value at first, but now I can't imagine my little bookshelf without them
