Spring cleaning around the Fort's compound involves raking up and disposing of several million brown redwood needles and other detritus from our dozen sequoia sempervirens, the dirty monsters. Adam came down (again) with Lynda to help -- well, actually he did more than just "help" with that task. Here Kelsey (foreground, wrong end toward us) and Jax inspect Adam's work on the rose garden area, while the incinerator does its thing.

Shower curtain from Target and rug from IKEA. The rug works well as a bath mat and really brightens up the all white room.

Its that time of year again. Spring Cleaning. I have been inspired by others around me. This year its really a cleansing for me

Jericho Park - from April 1 you have to pay to park by the Sailing Club - so, as a matter of principle, we go there on March 31 (and then back on October 1 when it is free again). These are public parks, paid by our taxes and why should we pay twice for it!

Mother nature was busy draining the accumulated rain in to the storm drain - the mud was impressive.

Going through this pile of stuff is exactly the last thing on earth I want to do.

Step One: Wake up to a messy room, freak out, start cleaning.

Step Two: Take a Flickr break

Step Three: Take another break to play with your found stuffed animals.

Step Four: Find valuable things while cleaning, including MOOLAH!

Steps Five and Six: Step back and bask in the glow of a freshly cleaned room!

It's been a productive day. Productive days make me happy!

My dearest Damien reminded me today that an unplayed piano still holds a tune. It gives me hope for other things that haven't been touched in awhile.

Bees Spring cleaning - DB frames

In late April, attending to the Beehives to check the cleanliness and see if the bees have enough wax to lay brood (new eggs for new workers).......

Some hives are performing so well they have quickly run out of space and present a chance for swarming - so to avoid that happening (its ok but only under controlled circumstances) we add a top box with new wax frames.

Having just spent the morning up to my knees in grass and boggy areas, planting about 25 trees - then hosing down my boots, changing my trousers, washing mud off gloves - I thought "this is spring!"

Spring for me is getting totally ... um... tired! Tired doing all the jobs that need doing now! Oh I like doing them - the sowing of seeds, the planting of trees, the clearing up after the winter storms - but the frustrations soon come when I also need to do some window painting - when I want to be beachcombing!

I found the wheelbarrow tucked under some bushes. It had been blown there in 100mph winds in January - and I hadn't turfed it out of its hiding place. Have done so now, so now 'we' have to clean it up ready for summer use. :)

Nothing special in the taking of the picture (see exif), although because I didn't want to raise the ISO, I had to pretend I was target shooting and just squeeze the button. Just a boost in contrast and a cool filter post processing.

The tyre says not to be used over 10km/hr! I wonder what would happen if I ran really fast with it? Hmm!

Happy Spring to you all. May your days be filled with sunshine - enough to do all those jobs that must be done. :o)

Spring means spring cleaning. I decided to clean the outside windows that face our backyard... We have a lot of them, but I only tackled the first pane. They're older windows so they only come so clean even with some elbow grease. I think there is a little bit of humidity/fog between the layers of glass so they don't get completely sparkling clean. :(

When I passed the Telok Blangah Food Centre at Block 79, Telok Blangah Drive, I was suprised to see all the stalls closed and also there were no people around this food centre during this hour.

After my wedding reception - the most recent one. Oops. Well, guess it doesn't matter now since we're getting divorced. Eventually.

Get off to a Flying Start with the Edinburgh International Science Festival at National Museum of Flight this Spring.

Not much has changed on the counter. I'm afraid of it these days.

A sampling of the swatches that I pulled down off the wall - each represents a design project either past or in progress or on the back burner!

it's spring cleaning time so i'm having a yard sale!

This isn't actually a walk in closet. It's a three and a half foot long hallway to the ensuite bathroom. There was a bifold door and pair of sliding doors, I ripped those suckers down.

Red Bear found a nifty little house, just her size, today while she was out exploring. It was very dirty though. Of course, the price was good--it seems to be free!

A weekends worth of work! A major achievment that you can finally see the floor once again.

No artistic value here - just a simple placeholder to chart my progress.

(Of course you dont see the mountain of stuff BEHIND the camera :) )
