Bees Spring cleaning - we have just cut some wax with Drone eggs away from a hive...remember Drone = Male so not much use ha ha !!
In late April, attending to the Beehives to check the cleanliness and see if the bees have enough wax to lay brood (new eggs for new workers).......
Some hives are performing so well they have quickly run out of space and present a chance for swarming - so to avoid that happening (its ok but only under controlled circumstances) we add a top box with new wax frames.

Well I'm still here even if I haven't posted a photo on Flickr in weeks. I'm still taking photos. Yeah, I have very little time to relax let alone take, edit and post photos. I apologize to all my wonderful Flickr friends I've meet in the last couple years.
I want to do better.
To recap the last few weeks:
~my boyfriend packed up all that he could fit into his car to follow his career dream. No more daily grind for "The Man" in an office job. Heading up the Pacific Northwest coast for 2 weeks visiting friends, traveling, eating, blogging. Then 3 months in Europe (mostly France) to reinvest in his passion to write, check stocks/bonds-for learning curve he says, and be his own boss.
I miss him, wish him well in his dream, am extremely proud and jealous of him. I can't wait to see him again this summer.
~I'm looking for a new place to live. To find a new apartment and new roommate(s). Stressing out of being alone w/out my rock boyfriend, truely living by myself independent w/ little cash or resources is both frightening and exhilarating new at the same time.
~Countdown is coming soon this month. Looking for a new place/roommate is like going on blind dates and multiple job interviews all at the same time. "but why don't they like me?" I feel like Goldilocks where nothing is just right.
~Rightfully so, my work at a non-profit for kids is suffering. I'm exhausted with long hours (damn you time change!), meeting with school parents/staff members, training new co-workers, and interviewing for a promotion. Then next month I'm off for a training conference.
So please excuse me if I don't post often. I know I said months back I would keeping going. I want to continue to meet many of you in meet-ups this summer.
I KNOW I will be fine. Hormones go up and down. Good days and bad. Mostly good ones! I'm so happy and excited for newness in my life. I can't wait to share them as they come along.

What crappy projects I left myself - cleaning out the linen closet and my own. Frack.
Pulled out 8 sets of sheet, several blankets and what seems like 100's of pillow from the linen closet.
This is the second, actually 3rd, swipe at my own closet. Culled 43 pairs of shoes and two more boxes of clothes. I can finally see my floor again.
Finally got some peg board up with my husband's help so I would have a place to put all those tools I either misplace or can never find a place to store them.

It still doesn't look very good, but it's a lot better than it was this morning! We've been accumulating baby stuff in this area for nearly a year. There was a huge bag of clothes on the chair against the wall and boxes of stuff I got at my work baby shower that I couldn't use in front of the microwave cart. I thought about taking a "before" picture, but it was way too embarassing. It was a LOT worse than this.
Now all that remains is a box under the table that needs to go back into our walk-in closet and Mark's laptop bag on the unused chair.
I can't believe this took me all morning!
This corner of our apartment is now fully cleaned, dusted and vacuumed, though!
Step one in my spring cleaning mission is accomplished. Unfortunately, I think it was one of the easiest steps.
I am a pack rat. I refuse to throw anything away. Even old coupons that I will never use.
My husband hates it! Especially seeming we have gone from a huge 4 x 2 house to a 2 x 2 trailer. So I am spring cleaning and throwing out all my useless crap....

It's never too early to start on spring cleaning! I'm starting with my closet. :)

Yes, it is packed, Yes, I know. But it's an honest not staged pic of my closet. If you don't like it that's ok. You don't need to come over and wrestle the stack of converse to get to a pair of jeans to borrow. I'm OK with that.
With a hose, wand and cord combination offering an extended 46 feet of quicker, easier cleaning, AirSpeed Gold cleans carpets better than Dyson DC14, DC17 and DC25 at one-third the price!**
Reno Gazette-Journal illustration on getting the man of the house to partake in spring cleaning. Traditional brush and ink, color added in FreeHand.
(Oct. 2008) This is a bit surreal... I think I used flash in order to bring out the wasp nest a bit from the lovely leaves. And then there's the slight echo of the nest's shape in the cloud.
Spring Cleaning 2009 Series: Since I haven't been posting very much since I got my new computer and my photos got disorganized, I did a spring cleaning and organized stuff and found some half-decent shots that I had not posted.
I gave my clowns a bit of spring cleaning today, and found a spot for a few pictures I'd acquired but not put on display...

Suki is wisely ignoring me in the window to the left ~ yes in HER bowl.
I am up to my hips in my assorted hobby materials ~much of this will of course go the basement as I am laying claim to the former playroom that my kids seem to just use as a dumping ground (don't know where they get THAT?)....but it will allow me to take my thoughtfully sorted items (a.k.a. resin doll items, including all their crap for dioramas and cases upon case of fabrics sorted by colour ) to an area that allows me to actually access them with ease.
I have two work (craft) tables down there already but the kids have buried it under...stuff.
My sewing, illustrating, painting and Obistu doll materials will stay upstairs....gah....I am the poster child for packratitis!

The above image is disgusting, not just the editing but why would I need so many clothes? Ugly, tacky clothes at that lol
My resolution: I will not buy unless I'm in love with the item. I hope I can get at least 20 bucks for this stack at a resale shop. If not, I'll donate the stuff. No wonder the Earth is groaning. We're trashing it! >:O
+ Today: Other than cleaning out the closet, I sat at a park for an hour and a half, thinking, writing, and reading :)
