I first created this design as a bag for myself ages ago for a grocery bag. Then I switched to a more open design for the many other bags I use. My mom looked at my old, over-stretched and pilly original and asked if I could make her one with that pattern. She liked that it wasn’t so open, and thought that it would be perfect for shopping around New York City. I made one for her and one for my grandmother. This designed for a more springtime theme to it. I love the little flowers and matching edging!
I love this bag. I've used mine for three years now.
Available at my Etsy and Zibbet shops!
It is springtime as the trees are leafing out as the days are warming up. On this river birch two long catkins hang from a branch which will be producing major pollen causing the hay fever to increase and the pharmacy workload to increase.

I took this on my way to the town of Tecumseh, Michigan on March 26, 2008.
Recent rains had created ponds where they normally don't exist.
I had to turn around and go back to get this, because it was too good to
pass up.

This statue of a boy "Springtime" was originally in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park for an exhibition in 1949 but was moved subsequently to Glasgow Green (McPhun's Park portion).
The lighting was difficult here for this image. The former Templeton's Carpet Factory building can be seen in the background.
More details about the sculptor Thomas Clapperton (1879-1962) and the history of his work can be found via the link below:

The Templeton's Carpet Factory was built in 1892 and its architect was William Leiper (1839-1916).
...so how about a whole week full of bits of nature...all bejeweled for our fanciful fling...each and every day...and all night long! :)
"Springtime is the land awakening.
The March winds are the morning yawn."

In Springtime
"My garden blazes brightly with the rose-bush and the peach,
And the koil sings above it, in the siris by the well,
From the creeper-covered trellis comes the squirrel's chattering speech,
And the blue jay screams and flutters where the cheery sat-bhai dwell.
But the rose has lost its fragrance, and the koil's note is strange;
I am sick of endless sunshine, sick of blossom-burdened bough.
Give me back the leafless woodlands where the winds of Springtime range --
Give me back one day in England, for it's Spring in England now!
Through the pines the gusts are booming, o'er the brown fields blowing chill,
From the furrow of the ploughshare streams the fragrance of the loam,
And the hawk nests on the cliffside and the jackdaw in the hill,
And my heart is back in England 'mid the sights and sounds of Home.
But the garland of the sacrifice this wealth of rose and peach is,
Ah! koil, little koil, singing on the siris bough,
In my ears the knell of exile your ceaseless bell like speech is --
Can you tell me aught of England or of Spring in England now?"
~ Rudyard Kipling, 1865-1936 ~
* koil -- Then Indian bell-bird. I wonder if this is the koel, that I know.
sat-bhai -- Indian starlings.
Though I miss India, I am really enjoying the unfolding Spring in the UK so the poem has echoes of how I felt as I missed the British seasons. This was taken for an out-of-camera challenge for the S5 group (ie. no post processing whatsoever)

Here are some springtime blossoms while out with the dog. Finally beginning to actually look like Spring!
Pretty thrifted vintage plate. I love things that have that crackle look from age.
On the back: Booths Silicon China, England. "Springtime" Perfect for this time of year. I think this is a cake plate.
I have not taken many pictures of Dragonflies yet with the new camera. Just playing with Lightroom and shadows. Almost took out the leaf at the bottom but decided to keep it in the picture.
It's a rainy/snowy day here in Edmonton, and I'm missing the cherry blossoms and real spring weather that we experienced in Japan!
