This is my favorite part of the year...going outside & taking pictures of all our trees that are just budding out.
Springtime is here in southwestern Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains and love is in the air! Soon it will be nesting time. It was fun watching these two robins jump around one another on this tree!
Break open a cherry tree and there are no flowers, but the spring breeze brings forth myriad blossoms. ~Ikkyu Sojun~

In the later 1880s in Paris, a few friends, among them, Bonnard, Vuillard, and Denis, rejected the teachings advocated by the academic painters with whom they studied. Rather than represent subjects with sophisticated realism, these young artists chose a naïve style, stressing the decorative quality that could be obtained in a painted surface. “It is well to remember that a picture before being a battle horse, a nude woman, or some anecdote, is essentially a flat surface covered with colors assembled in a certain order”, explained Denis
Springtime, a double sided canvas, describes a purification scene set deep in the forest of Saint-Germain, near Paris. The composition is a study for a larger, more realistic painting of 1899 ( Virginal Printemps), and in 1908 was the basis for a wall decoration.

These were taken using a Pentax 85mm f/2.2 Soft focus lens. It was designed to have a ton of under-corrected spherical aberration. As such, it's depth of field is extremely deep, even wide open (if you don't understand how this can be, ask and I'll try to explain, or point you to someone who has already said it well). I find if I focus close and let the back edge of what is in focus barely touch the subject, the background _finally_ drops away. Messing with the aperture, of course, adds another dimension of possibilities.
The real reason I wanted to write something in these comments/descriptions is that this Pentax lens came mounted with a Nikon F-mount bayonet. It's the only Pentax K-mount lens I've so far seen remounted this way. I don't know if Pentax made a series of Nikon F-mount (never heard of it before) or if this was just a very good job done in a shop somewhere.
One evening, during our Disneyland Paris Magical Moments Events Tour, we were treated to a very magical evening at Parc Disneyland that included "Springtime for Mickey" in Central Plaza, "Disney's Dine Under the African Stars" at Hakuna Matata Restaurant in Adventureland and a very special Magical Moments meet-and-greet on Main Street USA. It was such a magical evening that I actually wept afterward.

Thanks for looking!
What a cool script! This is a tweak of Rosmarie Edwards script, Strange. I saw all of the other cool tweaks of it and had to give it a go. Enhanced a bit with Filter Forge and then Dreamscope.

New growth starting to bud on this beautiful tree,... not sure what kind of tree that this was, but it was gorgeous all the same...
With an overcast sky, a wood with intimate patches of bluebells made a great location to indulge in a couple of hours of Springtime photography.
