The viceroy is a North American butterfly. It was long thought to be a Batesian mimic of the monarch butterfly, but since the viceroy is also distasteful to predators, it is now considered a Müllerian mimic instead.

Springtime in Nashville Middle Tennessee in the month of April. I was thinking of a tune by one of my favorite artists, Pat Metheny, "April Joy"
The rear DPU on MWCRV 13 passes some of the lush greens of a Techachapi spring as it exits the portal of Tunnel 2. Although it's not always that easy to time, getting to Techachapi during the brief spring season should be on any railfan bucket list.
