Even the word Springtime opens the eyes and warms the heart.

The buds on the trees are now popping with a springtime flourish !

When I grow up, I might look into some dad jokes. Might as well start practicing.

Does February like March?

No, but April May.

A local Lancaster area street somewhat muted in blossoms because of the cold damp Spring we have had... still... I find it impressive.

Taken at Mount Grace Priory.

I bought a cheap old brass magic lantern lens to use with a Hasselblad body. I took some Ilford film which expired decades ago and wandered out with the spirit of photographic adventure.

The pinks and greens of the surrounding vegetation complement the bright yellows of the road lines and two Union Pacific locomotives which are leading a northbound CPKC train of autorack cars into Gravette, AR on a chilly and rainy Saturday, April 5, 2025.

I really love springtime and the miracle, when everything suddenly is blooming and the trees become green within a few days ! Like the recent green in this forest composition, that is about just 5 days old ! Because a week before I saw no leaves at the trees at this spot, where the ÖBB class 2016 007 looks also newly painted ... ; )

The Lady’s Walk, a path through woodland, near the village of Montacute, Somerset, can be entered from the village, from where the path runs steeply up hill, or the walk can start from Hollow Lane, to walk downhill in the opposite direction. In Spring flowers grow on the woodland floor, celandines, primroses and wood anemones are the earliest, followed by wild garlic and bluebells later. The trees are mainly deciduous including many beeches.

I keep stumbling across Linnets out on my walks at the moment. They are so pretty. This is a big crop unfortunately...

Really need to stop photographing mountains

The roads are bare - the sun is warm - the birds are returning - and the highway department has bucketed out the end of our driveway. That means that spring has definitely arrived in Alaska.

Our temperatures are warming to the low to mid-thirties during the day but dropping to single digits at night. This is the time of year to break out the camera gear, and photograph the snow-covered mountains, and slowly melting streams. April will arrive in one week, and it is one of the prettiest times of the year to enjoy the far north.

In this photo you see Mt. Drum - a peak that is part of the mighty Wrangell Mountains. I am so blessed to be able to enjoy this view each time I travel toward Glennallen. Come on up and see it for yourself.
