Photographers are all over the Palouse now capturing the rolling hills as they turn green. I have always found it difficult to photograph but sometimes you can find a neat spot.

An unimportant little flowering weed living its life. I'd never have notice without a macro lens on my camera.
As seen from Texas, flowers and butterflies indicate spring is here. So prepare now, as spring is near!
Springtime at Wastwater - An unusually warm and bright day marks the definite arrival of springtime at Wastwater. The classic Lakeland view of Yewbarrow, Great Gable and Lingmell appearing down the length of the lake with a glimpse of the dramatic scree slopes falling from Illgill Head plunging into the depths of England's deepest lake.

The warmth of the sun is rapidly melting last week's snow, birds are singing their springtime songs, crows are gathering nesting materials, and trees are forming their spring leaf and flower buds. My yard is filled with bluebirds, and their nest boxes have been cleaned out and ready for them to begin their new families. This bright eyed male was sitting in the cherry tree, waiting for a turn at the mealworm feeder. Backyard bird.

At Nelson, Illinois on the former C&NW Galena Division (today UP's Geneva Sub) UP GP15 Y705, bathed in mist from the irrigation equipment in the adjacent farm field, sits with a local- I believe from at least as far west as Stirling- waiting to proceed east towards Rochelle, Dekalb, and West Chicago. At left, the former C&NW line to Peoria and further south peels off. This was 2013, and searchlights were still in abundance in the area. Also, just for clarity, this train was stationary and the crossing gates were up.
