bells are ringing....

Blue sky, white mountains and green leaves. Springtime at Sunndalsora!

Often in life, we forget to slow down and enjoy the splendor of the world around us!

The feilds in Shawsville are in full bloom as NS 4090 and 4079 tackle the Shawsville with a loaded grain train in tow.

The spring morning started out chilly as most do, but with the sun high in the sky at Baraboo, Wisconsin & Southern's L864 looks in fine form as they spot cars for R R Donnelley in the industrial park. AS of 2007, R R Donnelley was the worlds largest commercial printer.

The pinks and greens of the surrounding vegetation complement the bright yellows of the road lines and two Union Pacific locomotives which are leading a northbound CPKC train of autorack cars into Gravette, AR on a chilly and rainy Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Soulis: I Love the Springtime 7.

We went for a walk with her this morning in an olive grove where the ground was carpeted with Spring flowers

Can you see the window that is reflected in one of the drops?

The Lady’s Walk, a path through woodland, near the village of Montacute, Somerset, can be entered from the village, from where the path runs steeply up hill, or the walk can start from Hollow Lane, to walk downhill in the opposite direction. In Spring flowers grow on the woodland floor, celandines, primroses and wood anemones are the earliest, followed by wild garlic and bluebells later. The trees are mainly deciduous including many beeches.

It's like Wow, all at once within one week Springtime exploded. It's been hard to keep up and be in five places at once to see all that has gone on. It sure is pretty though and i am definitely in my element...camera in hand. I sometimes think that i should make up a T-shirt with a decent photo of myself and a slogan that says.....Photography is my nature...which is exactly how i feel about photography !

Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Have a safe and incredible day dear Flickr friends !

The roads are bare - the sun is warm - the birds are returning - and the highway department has bucketed out the end of our driveway. That means that spring has definitely arrived in Alaska.

Our temperatures are warming to the low to mid-thirties during the day but dropping to single digits at night. This is the time of year to break out the camera gear, and photograph the snow-covered mountains, and slowly melting streams. April will arrive in one week, and it is one of the prettiest times of the year to enjoy the far north.

In this photo you see Mt. Drum - a peak that is part of the mighty Wrangell Mountains. I am so blessed to be able to enjoy this view each time I travel toward Glennallen. Come on up and see it for yourself.

Northtown's B40-8Ws zoom eastbound with an 8700-foot mixed freight approaching CP52.8.

The B40s made a circle tour, first going north to Superior, then west to Grand Forks before heading east back to Northtown, their home base for the last long while.

558 & 542 are a popular pair around here, and are just about the only thing interesting left that runs out of Northtown.

As a kid in the late-90s and early 2000s, a lot of kid-friendly railroad programs featured the Santa Fe and their red & silver engines. So in a way, there's some childhood nostalgia in seeing red & silver 27+ years after the merger, even if it's badly faded and rusty.

The 500s and 600s were once proud members of the superfleet, hauling the hottest trains across the Santa Fe system. Now, these two 500s and six 600s have been assigned to Northtown for yard service, with the 600s being RCO assigned to the hump of all places, times are certainly different
