This is the first time I took photos in such low light and some of the photos aren't perfect but for me they are! I'm delighted with how they turned out! :D

I'm a fanatic when it comes to Henry Rollins so it was so brilliant getting to see him live for the first time doing his Spoken Word! If you ever get the chance to see him live, do! He's amazing! :D

If you are sharing my photos anywhere please give credit and link back to the original, thanks.

On October 18, 2012, Poets & Writers supported an event in Sacramento, California: Poetry Unplugged at Luna’s Café, a spoken-word series that has been going strong for seventeen years.

The event was one of thousands that Poets & Writers supports each year through the Readings/Workshops program, which pays writers fees for giving readings and leading workshops in California and New York, as well as eight cities outside those states.

Series cohost Frank Andrick says that in recent years other sources of financial support have dried up. “Without funding from Poets & Writers we would not be able to bring poets in from out of town to read at Luna’s,” he says. “And nothing makes a local poet prouder than to be paid to read—that makes us professionals.”

Performers at Poetry Unplugged on October 18 included Frank Andrick, Sage Alexandra, Becky Cale, Be Davidson Herrera, Rachel Leibrock, Ruben Reveles, Arnold Robbins, Alan Satow, Allegra Silberstein, Max West, and Gerri White.

Read more about this event in the March/April 2013 issue of Poets & Writers Magazine: at.pw.org/X9cbdM.
