"In Norman's case, he was simply doing everything possible to keep alive the illusion of his mother being alive. And when reality came too close, when danger or desire threatened that illusion - he dressed up, even to a cheap wig he bought. He'd walk about the house, sit in her chair, speak in her voice. He tried to be his mother ! And, uh... now he is. "

In this classic nineteenth-century thriller, the respectable and mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll develops a potion that unleashes a loathsome character, the dark and evil Mr. Hyde. The author, Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist and travel writer whose most famous works are “Treasure Island” (1883), “Kidnapped” (1886), and “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1886). Stevenson now ranks among the 26 most translated authors in the world.

SAINT OR SINNER?
Elizabeth was timid - or bold.
Suspiciously good - or very wicked.
You may pity Elizabeth or she may fill you with horror, but you will never forget her, once you have explored the innermost reaches of her disturbed mind.
From Wikipedia:
Lizzie is a 1957 drama film directed by Hugo Haas. The film is based on the novel "The Bird's Nest" by Shirley Jackson and stars Eleanor Parker, Richard Boone and Joan Blondell. The popular songs "It's Not for Me to Say" and "Warm and Tender" were written for this film, and performed by Johnny Mathis, who played a piano player/singer in the film.
Elizabeth (Eleanor Parker) has recurring headaches and is plagued with insomnia. She is receiving letters from a woman called Lizzie, but Elizabeth can't remember knowing anyone named Lizzie. When Elizabeth is under hypnosis, her psychiatrist, Dr. Wright (Richard Boone), discovers Elizabeth has three personalities: The shy Elizabeth, the Mr. Hyde-like Lizzie, and the kind, well-adjusted Beth, the woman she always should have been. It is up to Dr. Wright to help Elizabeth to become Beth completely.

"As if men don't desire strangers! As if ... ohh, I refuse to speak of disgusting things, because they disgust me! You understand, boy? Go on, go tell her she'll not be appeasing her ugly appetite with my food ... or my son! Or do I have to tell her because you don't have the guts! Huh, boy? You have the guts, boy?"

"Wanna play?"
"Wanna go away?!"
I'm always feeling like 2 different people, sometimes I feel like running to the nearest playground and playing on the monkeybars or something, then 2 mins. later I feel like keeping to myself, and not talking.
I'm odd.

I'm very excited! I just got photoshop and this is my first attempt at really trying to create something! I don't really know anything about it, so I'm sure there are plenty of flaws in this picture, but I have a lot to learn yet!

Tea, naps, reading, tea, kitties, tea... it's a good day in the life!
This is my first time trying a composite and it's far from perfect but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!
Little tip to self for next time: Don't knock the camera setup halfway through. >.<
"Please, mother."
"No! I will not hide in the fruit cellar! Ha! You think I'm fruity, huh?"
"Please mother, it's just for a few days, just for a few days so they won't find you!"
"Just for a few days? In that dark, dank fruit cellar? No! You hid me there once, boy, and you'll not do it again, not ever again ..."

The ever changing look of Birdman (the spectacles are not his, of course...).
After a football match last night and now with a sore neck and back, he definitely feels more like the guy on the left today... ;-)

Change Your Mind by Neil Young. Post your images inspired or accompanied by music to the Jukebox Junkies.
You hear the sound,
you wait around
and get the word
You see the picture
changing everything you've heard
Destroying you with this
must be the one you love
Must be the one
whose magic touch
can change your mind
Don't let another day go by
without the magic touch

I wonder why it can take me "ALL" to clean the house. There are really other things I'd rather do
Taken at the Laws Railroad Museum, near Bishop, California. This poor little critter (critters?) had two heads with two complete faces (the other one is facing in the opposite direction).
Photographed from a laptop screen through the viewfinder of a Kodak Duaflex

Take a Class With Dave and Dave - Week 16 - Assignment 3
Yin-Yang - This one is open to your interpretation! From the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia: In East Asian thought, the two complementary forces or principles that make up all aspects and phenomena of life. Yin is earth, female, dark, passive, and absorbing; it is present in even numbers and in valleys and streams and is represented by the tiger, the colour orange, and a broken line. Yang is heaven, male, light, active, and penetrating; it is present in odd numbers and mountains and is represented by the dragon, the colour azure, and an unbroken line. Together they express the interdependence of opposites.
Yes, so I still have no internet at home. The feeling of being so disconnected is a surprise to me. Of course, there were several things I wanted to accomplish this weekend that required an internet connection. This October snowfall prevented that. It could have been worse...
Here's the Photo Recipe & strobist info:
Strobes set subject left and subject right. Bounced off ceiling, and a bounce card to direct some light to the subject. Ratio of 1:2 for the strobes. Height was about head level on stands. I used a 430 and 580 Canon strobes, fired using ST-E2 IR transmitter. I set the intervalometer to about 15 seconds and let it shoot away. I used AF to allow it to focus on me properly. I set the flash exposure to evaluative and a little hotter, +1 I think.
The image on the iPad was made in the same way, but edited through one of those common filters that many photo editing programs have built-in.
I originally had a different photo on the iPad, but went with this one for this image. I may put up the other ones I created at a later date. One was more Halloween-ish, but I wasn't quite happy with it.
Added to the Weekly Challenge, Self Portrait.

I wanted to try to photograph what it would look and feel like to have an addiction. (mainly substance abuse here)
"They know I can't move a finger, and I won't. I'll just sit here and be quiet, just in case they do ... suspect me. They're probably watching me. Well, let them. Let them see what kind of a person I am.
I'm not even going to swat that fly. I hope they are watching ... they'll see."

Shot on location at the Duncan Forestry Museum. It was a service entrance to one of the exhibits... the light was fabulous and I did not have to compete with random beams hitting anywhere. Deconstruction of this - rust colored fabric, a branch that attracted my attention, and a pose that interested in me. I was consciously looking for a long neck and curved shoulders... In post I upped the contrast, did a duplication, which created some interesting heart shapes and patterns between the 2 figures and heart overlay. It is a little creepy but at the same time it struck a chord in me about relationships.... I would really like to know what this image says to you.. if anything at all. Please comment and let me know.
