social phobia or social anxiety disorder.

I would of complete this earlyer tonight, but its Saturday Night and I have to socialise, its rule lol. So its 2am and its done.

Some one's acount:

"A woman hates to stand in line in the grocery store because she's afraid that everyone is watching her. She knows that it's not really true, but she can't shake the feeling. While she is shopping, she is conscious of the fact that people might be staring at her from the big mirrors on the inside front of the ceiling. Now, she has to talk to the person who's checking out her groceries. She tries to smile, but her voice comes out weakly. She's sure she's making a fool of herself. Her self-consciousness and anxiety rise to the roof... read more

An abandoned sanatorium in the French mountains.

I know I am not alone in the fact that I prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. I decided to practice portrait lighting on myself, eek!! So many lessons learned, the first of which is at my age, I need diffused light and soft focus! Also, I had just returned from Jazzercise and hadn't cleaned up for the day so next on the list would be to groom oneself. I can now see why I got called Grandma last week, somehow I feel younger than I look. Though to be fair I was with my 24 and 4 yr old daughters so maybe it was a reasonable assumption for the store clerk.

My resolutions are to keep working at lighting and to continue my exercise routine. Last year I logged 189 days at the gym and that doesn't include days I went running or worked out at home. I have a nice streak going on myFitnesspal too, 549 days :) Once I start a routine I am pretty dedicated to sticking to it.

"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"

Horror silent film (USA; 1920)

based upon Robert Louis Stevenson's novella "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde"

Directed by John S. Robertson

Starring: John Barrymore (Dr. Henry Jekyll / Mr. Edward Hyde), Brandon Hurst (Sir George Carew) and Martha Mansfield (Millicent Carew)

"It's sad, when a mother has to speak the words that condemn her own son. But I couldn't allow them to believe that I would commit murder. They'll put him away now, as I should have years ago. He was always bad, and in the end he intended to tell them I killed those girls and that man... as if I could do anything but just sit and stare, like one of his stuffed birds."

The lichen seem to have found that this post has two personalities and prefer one to the other.

"Split Personality" (dissociative identity disorder) is a topic of intense controversy in the professional psych community (i.e. does it exist or not).* However, it has been and continues to be a topic in pop culture (e.g. Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, 1886).

If you (or your alter ego) wanna know more, see:

Last Night I had a tough decision to go out or stay in. Before I made my decision to stay in, there was a stand-off. The homebody won and I stayed in. I'd been dying to do a double exposure self portrait for a long time anyway, so I worked on this shot. I had plenty of time to do it since the cable wasn't working.

And by the way, that's my new love seat! Yeah!

About:

For the photoclub at Fluxys the next assignment is something creative, I had some ideas: the mashup of the previous upload was one of them, another was lightpainting and a multi exposure thing. For the last one I wanted something unusual first I was thinking about ghost leaving my body, then I came up with split personality idea. First I was thinking clothed-naked, but I found this a little inappropriate, then I thought maybe clothed and swim suit, but the difference between the two is to great.

Then I came up with this idea: One side as clothed as runner and one as cyclist, looked around my small appartement and found this location something special with the picture frame above me to fill in that space.

Pre processing

Camera on tripod, with wired remote control programmed to take a picture every 10 seconds.

On the right of me was a silver screen to provide some fill-in light

Also on the right was a off camera flash to 1/40 to fill in the dark spots and give a highlight in my eyes

Camera was put on rear-curtain flash sync.

Took about 30 shots as runner and 30 as cyclist always trying to sit in the same position

Location:

At home in Boechout, Belgium

Technical stuff:

Exposure: 0,6 sec at f/8,0 at 0 EV

Taken with: Nikon D300S and 18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 at 44mm

Post processing

Merged two different shots: one clothed as runner and one as cyclist.

Used the one as runner as background layer.

Pasted in a new layer with the cyclist as extra layer

Added mask to cyclist layer just around the body of the cyclist. Cleanup of the sides of the mask.

The face didn't align up perfectly but it was a close match, so I selected the runners head and used puppet warp to get it properly aligned.

Now it was time to touch up the wire from the headphone and fill in the blanks left from the puppet warp.

Next up were the removal of the electrical outlet and a speaker which was hanging on the wall.

"In Norman's case, he was simply doing everything possible to keep alive the illusion of his mother being alive. And when reality came too close, when danger or desire threatened that illusion - he dressed up, even to a cheap wig he bought. He'd walk about the house, sit in her chair, speak in her voice. He tried to be his mother ! And, uh... now he is. "

In this classic nineteenth-century thriller, the respectable and mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll develops a potion that unleashes a loathsome character, the dark and evil Mr. Hyde. The author, Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist and travel writer whose most famous works are “Treasure Island” (1883), “Kidnapped” (1886), and “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1886). Stevenson now ranks among the 26 most translated authors in the world.

SAINT OR SINNER?

Elizabeth was timid - or bold.

Suspiciously good - or very wicked.

You may pity Elizabeth or she may fill you with horror, but you will never forget her, once you have explored the innermost reaches of her disturbed mind.

From Wikipedia:

Lizzie is a 1957 drama film directed by Hugo Haas. The film is based on the novel "The Bird's Nest" by Shirley Jackson and stars Eleanor Parker, Richard Boone and Joan Blondell. The popular songs "It's Not for Me to Say" and "Warm and Tender" were written for this film, and performed by Johnny Mathis, who played a piano player/singer in the film.

Elizabeth (Eleanor Parker) has recurring headaches and is plagued with insomnia. She is receiving letters from a woman called Lizzie, but Elizabeth can't remember knowing anyone named Lizzie. When Elizabeth is under hypnosis, her psychiatrist, Dr. Wright (Richard Boone), discovers Elizabeth has three personalities: The shy Elizabeth, the Mr. Hyde-like Lizzie, and the kind, well-adjusted Beth, the woman she always should have been. It is up to Dr. Wright to help Elizabeth to become Beth completely.

"As if men don't desire strangers! As if ... ohh, I refuse to speak of disgusting things, because they disgust me! You understand, boy? Go on, go tell her she'll not be appeasing her ugly appetite with my food ... or my son! Or do I have to tell her because you don't have the guts! Huh, boy? You have the guts, boy?"

I'm very excited! I just got photoshop and this is my first attempt at really trying to create something! I don't really know anything about it, so I'm sure there are plenty of flaws in this picture, but I have a lot to learn yet!

"Wanna play?"

"Wanna go away?!"

I'm always feeling like 2 different people, sometimes I feel like running to the nearest playground and playing on the monkeybars or something, then 2 mins. later I feel like keeping to myself, and not talking.

I'm odd.
