114 Pictures for 2014 - #97 - Splash
This was taken a couple of months ago when we visited the Oregon Coast. The waves were fascinating and magnificent and oh-so-different than my usual scenery here on the prairie! I was impressed by how calmly these gulls sat in the spray.

hiking up near snoqualmie pass, the further up we went the wetter it got, the clouds seemed to be forming all around us, the colorful bits (like this fungi) would catch the eye and not let go

Dopo essersi mangiato quattro pesciolini , in proporzione come se un uomo si mangiasse 4 spigole di 3 chili l'una !
Si è poggiato su un ramo basso ed ha iniziato a farsi il bagno con tuffi fulminei e riposizionamenti sul posatoio.
La 7D scatta 8 fps, in scatto continuo H su 8 fotogrammi ne riempiva a malapena uno e il secondo veniva a metà !
Una rapidità incredibile !

It is resting on a low branch and began to bathe with dips and relocation lightning on the perch.
The 7D shoot 8 fps in continuous shooting at 8 frames H I barely filled one and the second was in the middle!
Incredible speed!
Playing with dropping milk into a cup. Originally was playing with food coloring, hence the purple water, but then went to milk. Out of 250 photos, I got maybe 10 that show a decent splash, and 1 or 2 that I like. This is my favorite.
I was shooting at the full 8fps to get these, and still had a very low keeper rate. I think the ambient was too bright because you can still see a bit of motion blur in the droplets. I may have to try tethered TTL and the FPS setting to up my max synch speed.

We took the kids to the splash pad here on post today. They had a blast. I am posting many shots from today. Some I think are print worthy for our album, others are just of the kids having a good time. Hope everyone enjoys!
