The whole water splashing idea may be cliché, but I had a lot of fun, so I don't really care. I used a red stage light I had laying around, along with a high shutter speed to capture all of this madness. I'm pretty happy that I didn't have to make any adjustments to the final product either! The main design principle is the variety of the water splashes.
