We had the first rapids and water is overboard. Surprisingly the 5°C water was actually not that cold when wearing the wetsuit. It was surprisingly actually warmer being on the river in the wetsuit than standing on the shore.

I'm amazed just how many times this image has be used on the web breaking copyright. One guy 'Markus Hermannsdorfer' even entered it in to a competition as his own image.

I was trying to capture this splash from a fountain at a poolside. Could have been better if I had set a faster shutter speed, but still loved the reflections from the water globules on the top portion.
Ivaylo Gueorgiev
The Splasher 2009
oil on canvas
41 x 21 inches
Born in Bulgaria, Ivaylo Gueorgiev explores Iconoclasm through case studies of international art crimes, each a photorealistic facsimile of an art piece vandalized or stolen between the years 1914 and 2009. Gueorgiev’s work explores how the destruction or theft of masterpieces, known as Crimes Against Art, emblematize an attacker's desire for political, religious, and social change.
Gueorgiev’s point of departure grew from witnessing the end of Communism in Bulgaria and experiencing its aftermath, which included the destruction of numerous political and historical monuments. His paintings challenge the motivation behind of these crimes: rather than simply aiming to destroy national treasures, the assailants attempted to raise awareness
for their causes.
In July 2010, Gueorgiev was honored with the prestigious New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) 2010 Artists’ Fellowship for Painting in recognition for his series Crimes Against Art. The following portfolio showcases the six remaining available works from this series along with corresponding media coverage of each case study.
Used three flash units and a master remote unit to adjust the flash power to each individual flash units. Used water mixed with milk and food coloring for the color of the splash.

SPLASH! A precious smile turned too quickly to a frown. “What Had I Done!” an expression of anguish all over my 2 year old niece’s face. A spirited candle about to burnout who knows for how long. Seconds of pause I had to act quickly. SPLASH!
What is she doing? My Auntie is going mad! Should I call for help? SPLASH! SPLASH! My auntie has lost several of her marbles. I’m in trouble…here goes something; SPLASH, SPLASH, SPLASH!
AH YES, the candle is burning strong. Smile is where it should be. There’s a time and a place for everything. Now is the time and place to SPLASH!
