Wee, little Turkish spindle from Jenkins Woodworking. Pictures can't really show how small this spindle really is. It's so freaking cute and still spins perfectly.

The three spindles on the right are just basic maple with contrasting exotic woods (wenge, rosewood, canarywood, and bloodwood) thrown on. The lefthand spindle is canarywood, bloodwood, and wenge.

Walnut was chosen for the 11 3/4 inches long shaft of this elegant Tibetan support spindle. Dave has burn etched the canary wood whorl with his signature leaf motif. This supported spindle weights 47 grams.

We bought this beautiful antique spindle back chair in 1994 on a country trip to a small town in the mid north of South Australia. I love the carving in the timber at the top. It shows a kangaroo and warratahs. I think these chairs where produced in Melbourne in the early 1900s.
Trying to find a way to mount 3/4" shank tools in this MT3 spindle. Don't want to use MT3 collets. If you've got any advice, holler at yer boy.

i spun this up for the Spindlers' april challenge (april showers theme) over on Ravelry. the tissue papers were recycled from my nephews birthday. i navajo plied them and added seed beads. i have a lot more of this to spin up... but i needed to have a finished (albeit small) skien before the end of the month.
KnitPicks Turkish spindle with KnitPicks Merino/Silk top dyed with lily leaves, blossoms, stems. Alum and CoT mordant. Added baking soda which turned almost colorless dye bath yellow.
Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire; built in 1892. Although it was never an aid to navigation, the faux lighthouse is a well known landmark locally.
