I spent a magical few hours on the beach with Susan yesterday, the skies were wonderful and late sun lit up the cliffs. the lower clouds were heading south, while the higher clouds headed north, all very interesting, and created dynamic results. I thought this looked like an atmospheric kiss, so Let's spend the night together seemed fine, and my version is a reggae one by Teddy Brown and the Discolettes. At least I spent the late afternoon together.
A time when we can all enjoy what we love to do, and there is no fear. This photograph was taken when the pandemic was in it's infancy and the public was unsure of their limitations. We were asked to social distance and people were rebelling.
Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
In the arms of an Angel fly away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here
So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees
In the arms of an Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here.Sarah McLachlan

After spending most of the day (April 27) in the Waterpoocket Fold and after hiking Muley Twist Canyon we drove Utah highway 12 to near Upper Calf Creek Waterfalls trailhead where we spent the night at an unimproved campsite on BLM property a short distance off of the highway.
Tuesday April 28 Steve and I got an early start for Upper Calf Creek Waterfalls trailhead. I left my vehicle at camp and road with Steve the short distance to the trailhead. The hike was short and pleasant in the cool morning air. The light was poor for waterfall photographs, but there were some nice wildflower and an an unexpected pair of cinnamon teal. By the time we climbed the final stretch back to the trailhead the air temperature was much warmer than when we started down the trail to the waterfalls. Good that we got an early start.
After hiking to the Upper Calf Creek waterfalls we drove to Escalante, but not before finding that my battery was did. After jumpstarting my vehicle we drove to Escalente. Steve knew of a auto repair shop so I had my battery tested and also had a slow leak in a tire repaired. The battery was fine. One hour and $22 latter I was on the road. I can't get this kind of service in my home town. Wish I could remember the name of the repair shop.
At that point Steve and I went our separate ways. He started driving back to his home in Washington. Before taking off Steve shared some great places that I should visit.
I headed for the Lower Calf Creek Trail and hiked to Lower Calf Creek Falls.

As I've been spending more and more time working *on* photography at SmugMug, I've found less and less motivation to photograph the same places and things I had previously enjoyed photographing. The city, which was once a constant source of inspiration and focus for my camera, has become too much of an effort to go photograph. Seascapes, which I still love for the motion and power and color, lost interest as most non-photographers continued to lack interest in them. I needed something new to inspire me.
I've seen some amazing drone photos from a number of photographers lately. Originally these drones could take great videos but lacked great sensors for still photography; DJI now has a number of well-priced drones that also do great still photos! I picked up a DJI Mavic Pro 2 in November and I've been having a lot of fun flying and taking photos. It's provided a renewed sense of purpose and excitement with my photography.
I love getting above the land and seeing its shapes from the sky. It's amazing what just a hundred feet can show you that you would never see from the ground. And when the sun hits it at the right (low) angles, some magic can happen. On this particular night the sunset went blood red and orange in the sky and the streams of water managed to pick up the color beautiful!

After spending a morning being beguiled by the gorgeous details in the woods, the moisture hanging in the mosses, the rich red soil and softly decaying stumps, it was almost shocking to emerge into this scene. The late morning light was just hanging in the air between the banks, lighting up the cold December water as it swept over the canyon's rocks. I love this place.
After spending an hour out by the Connecticut River I started home and planned to hop off the Pike in Palmer for breakfast. A quick check revealed Q264 was bearing down on town so I figured I'd try for one grab shot. As I headed toward my favorite spot at old MP 83 I heard them call the signal as they rounded the curve approaching the NECR diamond. I had just enough time to pull and hop out with my truck still running and the door open to grab this three way meet shot.
Q264 (Buffalo to East Brookfield auto racks) has two units on the head end for a change as it passes the pair of geeps on L012 (old B740 the West Springfield to Palmer local turn) sitting in the yard and tbe DP locomotive on the rear of Q436 (Selkirk to Worcester manifest) the controlled siding while they make their set out.
Thirty seconds and three trains on the old Boston and Albany. I'll take it!

I spend a lot of time in Photoshop obscuring clouds and skies, especially in architectural photos as I find they can be distracting. Here however the sky is the photo. This was taken near the end of daylight hours from Box Hill, one of the higher view points in Surrey. The light suddenly started to shift from dark to light and back again as these monster clouds rolled across the landscape. It was quite magical. As you'd expect it didn't last long but I managed to squeeze off 15 or 20 shots.

After spending the night at the bottom of the Glen in the small town of Cannich we made our way to Glen Affric early and spent a glorious day amongst the trees and mountains of the Glen. After taking some images of these falls earlier in the day, we were just about ready to start our journey to Glencoe when the evening sky started to bristle with colour.
We made our way back down to the falls and captured this image. It is a six image panorama (portrait format) and was captured at the height of the colour.
Glen Affric (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Afraig) is a glen south-west of the village of Cannich in the Highland region of Scotland, some 15 miles (25 kilometres) west of Loch Ness. The River Affric runs along its length, passing through Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin. A minor public road reaches as far as the end of Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin, but beyond that point only rough tracks and footpaths continue along the glen.
Often described as the most beautiful glen in Scotland, Glen Affric contains the third largest area of ancient Caledonian pinewoods in Scotland, as well as lochs, moorland and mountains. The area is a Caledonian Forest Reserve, a national scenic area and a national nature reserve, as well as holding several other conservation designations.
The forests and open landscapes of the glen, and the mountains on either side, are a popular destination for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers.
This is the front of my apartment building, because the pandemic has made me lazy.
No longer do I drive models across town to deserted parks, or hike with them up mountains. Nope, now it's the front of my building or the side of my building...maybe the street behind my building, if I'm feeling adventurous.
On a rare occasion, I'll go about a half mile away to the river, shoot there. But it's such a hassle, now!
So instead I go all the way down the stairs to the sidewalk, plop friends in front of the nice stone wall, wait for the wind to move their hair, engage them in delightful conversation, and take this photo.
Worse ways to spend a global catastrophe!

Just returned home from a wonderful weekend spend together with my friends near the west coast of Denmark in a nice vacation house.
Nature was once again just showing off with it's wonders ... had to capture that.

Spending some time on the couch today after a cortisone shot in the foot, so photography wasn't really my priority. Fortunately, my knight in shining armor was still sitting out, so I took a bit of an abstract shadow.
Passa o tempo no vagar dos dias,
A divagar, não sei o que faça!
Haja ou não haja, tudo manias,
Bizarrices?! Resenhas?! Meu tempo!..
Momentos de ver passar...

Alimento dos minutos do desejar.

Spending time during the pandemic to look through old photos, including a visit to the Denver Zoo back in 2014!
Spending some time in a local field and wood hoping for some close encounters with the local wildlife.
Spending the evening capturing these stunning Loons at my local trout pond was truly amazing! I felt so lucky when they swam closer and I took some of my best Loon photos yet!
While spending the weekend in Eden, Utah I had the chance to get out and take a few photos. It was the only "dry" time that I was given. It was either raining or snowing the rest of the trip.
We could only spend about 40 mins exploring the gardens at Packwood House as doggo had to stay in the car (cool day, windows open) but it's a garden full of photographic treasures. Truely an NT gem that is not to be missed.
Next time we will 'do' the interior.
Spending time with our youngest, Phoebe at Oxford Uni this weekend, have a great one and will catch up in December!
Spending a weekend in Cologne and of course when being there we all want that famous shot over the river Rhine with the Cathedral and the Hohenzollern Bridge. Nice weather, clear sky, perfect for some blue hour work.
Enjoy...

She had been spending her late afternoon in her studio, which she was using as a kind of workshop for tinkering with various smaller or bigger projects too. As I knew, these times were precious to her, I went to make use of my own spare time by running some errands and having a bite to eat. When I returned home later that evening, she had eaten a little supper on her own too. We kissed and hugged each other before dressing up for a night on the town. While I was finishing my make up, she called us an uber that would take us to the club, where we would start into a night packed with dance, laughter and gossip.
Our final destination that night was the new club, everyone had been talking about the last couple of weeks. Swaying away with the music on the dancefloor, briefly interrupted by the occasional chat with some friends, we spent the rest of the night. An uber brought us home. Exhausted and a bit disheveled from the dance, and still a bit intoxicated from the flashing lights and drumming beats of the dancefloor, we dropped onto the daybed on our veranda.
As she laid her head into my lap, resting her flushed cheek on my bare thigh, i gently ruffled her slightly sweaty hair and tenderly caressed her other cheek. My heart was filling with warmth until it was overflowing with loving feelings for my dear beloved. At that moment she looked up at me, with a little twinkle in her eyes, slightly opening her lips. For a moment I just looked at her, taking in the beautiful face that i adored so much. Then I bent down to kiss her moist lips in a loving sensual french kiss.
Weakened from the exhaustion of the night, she climbed up onto the daybed, laying at my side. Cuddling into each other we kept on tenderly kissing until we fell asleep in a tight embrace, comforted by each others heartbeat of our two hearts beating like one.
Also probably bargain hunters. I spend so much time with the OG Trilogy Hunters, that I thought I'd send a little love towards the Hunters of the Clone Wars.
Auura Sing: Anyone else remember when Aurra was more than just a psycho killer, and was a psycho killer who was also a failed Jedi Padawan? Cause I do, and I miss those days. Standard Aurra fig with Harley head.
Cad Bane: I'm pretty sure I showed this guy a while ago. Ah well, CMF Sheriff hat, Duros head, Cad Bane tubes and torso, Electro legs.
Jango Fett: Same as the last time you saw him, but now with Knightcrawler Batman's head.
Zam Wesell: Sure I have the official fig, but I wanted to see if I could make one too. Samurai helmet, Poison Ivy head, LMB Catwoman torso/belt/legs, cloth skirt piece.
Durge: A severe upgrade from my last Durge fig: Cut/painted helmet, Sith Warrior head, Chima Armor, Knightcrawler Batman torso/legs, CMF Evil Knight arms.
Embo is Embo with Clone Armor
I also reassembled my modern Young Boba fig, but that was after I took this.
Lemme know what you think!
