Sunset shot taken with a full-spectrum Olympus E-PL2 used primarily for infrared photography. No infrared filters were attached on the front of the lens when this shot was taken, taking in the full spectrum of colors from the ultraviolet to the infrared range.
Further experimentation with Japanese Stab Binding patterns. Each binding in this set is progressively complex. At the same time, the color of each binding moves through the spectrum from red to violet.
One single shot of Pyramid Lake shows almost the entire color palette of this year's Canada trip.

The bright sunshine yesterday created a spectrum inside Portencross Castle that skited around it until it landed on this piece of cloth. I thought it looked like a landscape at sunset.

A SPECTRUM (plural spectra) is a condition that is not limited to a specific set of values but can vary infinitely within a continuum. The word saw its first scientific use within the field of optics to describe the rainbow of colors in visible light when separated using a prism; it has since been applied by analogy to many fields. Thus one might talk about the spectrum of political opinion, or the spectrum of activity of a drug, or the autism spectrum. In these uses, values within a spectrum are not necessarily precisely defined numbers as in optics; exact values within the spectrum are not precisely quantifiable. Such use implies a broad range of conditions or behaviors grouped together and studied under a single title for ease of discussion.
In most modern usages of spectrum there is a unifying theme between extremes at either end. Some older usages of the word did not have a unifying theme, but they led to modern ones through a sequence of events set out below. Modern usages in mathematics did evolve from a unifying theme, but this may be difficult to recognize.
Washita Battle Field National Historic Site
In the middle of Oklahoma we visited Washita Battlefield, which commemorated an unjust battle against the indigenous people in the American history. I was glad that the heaviness of thoughts were comforted by the peaceful sight of blooming wildflowers. To me the value of each individual life was just like these beautiful, unique flowers.
took this shot last Friday afternoon (may 30, 2008) while on board a bus to Quezon, notice the spectrum in the upper layer of clouds, it's my first time to witness such! I snapped round of shots while the bus was running down the SLEX.
taken at South Luzon Expressway, Muntinlupa City, Philippines
Just rockets, garlic greens and Grand Rapids lettuce under the full spectrum LED light at the moment. While things will grow on the windowsills, I find my lettuces do best with 16 hours a day light.
This die cast model of a Spectrum Patrol Vehicle from the Captain Scarlet series was photographed for the Flickr Friday theme of Made No More. The model was made in England by Meccano Ltd under the trade name Dinkey Toys. It was made under licence for Century 21 Toys Ltd. Whilst the toy may not be made anymore, and the indestructible Captain Scarlet has vanished, it would seem that the Mysterons are still going strong.

Labels can be misleading and even hurtful.
Once referred to as 'that asparagus kid', Asperger's Syndrome was retired from DSM in 2013. Now rolled into overall Autism Spectrum Disorder.
But I still enjoy asparagus 😁
another candid of the girls shopping at the Spectrum. I loved how the sun flare came out to light them so nicely.
No, this wasn't at the Irvine Spectrum. The title has nothing to do with the location of the car. This was actually at the Casa Palmero in Pebble Beach.
This morning shot explains the half-sun, half-shadow full spectrum view of the rainbow caught at the base of Lower Yosemite Falls, along with the differentially lit trees/leaves. Taken 4/17, it was a great morning for walking around and pics — not too chilly, no wind, and bright clear skies. Crowds would show up in about 60 minutes making the rest of the morning hustle-bustle.
Hydrogen spectrum (Balmer series) taken during a course lab which I supervised during 2019-2020.
The course lab cameras had been stolen, so I brought my own D800 to get even nicer pictures for the students to analyze! Taken without lens, so the relative spacing between the lines could be calculated by simply knowing the sensor size / nr. of horizontal pixels. Here one can observe 9-10 Balmer series lines, getting progressively closer to each other as one approaches near UV from the red direction.
7 pictures were stiched together to get the full spectrum from red to near UV (the left-most picture was taken at an exposure time of ca 1 hour to get anything at all through the camera's UV filter, which absorbs almost all of the light below ca 400 nm).
