Picked her up from my dealer yesterday. She is awesome!!! Yes, a few things could have been better, but she is still very close to perfect!

Not very well exposed but interesting to see older cars and different road layout.

There is a lot to be concerned about in America today: terrorism, epidemics, the GOP, the Democrats, a do-nothing Congress, and healthcare, to name a few. Instead of working together we are learning to fear everything and blame everyone. In the November 3 Washington Post, a day before the 2014 midterm elections, Rachel Maddow lays it out for us. And no part of the political spectrum has been given a pass.

The colour spectrum (I'm sure you all remember Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain) on the underside of a blank compact disc. I played around with some waterdrops on it hoping for bright, vibrant colours.

Used for June MSH - Indigo

According to Wikipedia..... Indigo is the color on the electromagnetic spectrum between about 420 and 450 nm in wavelength, placing it between blue and violet. One can see spectral indigo by looking on the underside of a non-recorded compact disc. This occurs because the CD functions as a diffraction grating. Whatever that means, lol.

Description from Public Art Reston:

"Spectrum is the sixth sculpture by the South Lakes STEAM Team, made up of five wooden interlocking rectangular prisms of different sizes and colors. After two years of creating sculptures with strong conceptual origins that featured minimalist color palettes, STEAM decided to change direction and create a sculpture that prioritized an exploration of aesthetic elements over a representation of a tangible theme. To do so, STEAM started out with one of the most basic geometric forms, the cube, with the intention for the emergence of an infinitely more complex, powerful, and unique form. The end result is Spectrum, a celebration of line, form, and color, unleashing the potential and power in the austerity of the formal elements employed in the sculpture. More specifically, basic line accentuated by its rainbow palette; a conglomeration of neon hues, and soft gradients similar to strawberry sherbets and dusky sunsets. The process of constructing the sculpture became a form of beacon for students who had not been involved in the sculpture thus far. In other words, a congregation of students turned out to collaborate in fabricating the sculpture, students that were not the weekly attendees through-out the year. The students drawn to the beacon of fabrication and construction are students of multiple social clicks, racial and ethnic description and academic success who sought to take part in something greater than the self. The diverse students worked together with STEAM to create a substantive and expressive contribution to our community. In essence, they instinctively came together to create the proverbial village."

May as well have a Sony ES spectrum analyzer to compliment the EQ!

Today's Citaro stray involved 3902 (BX56 VTV) on Spectrum Link service 101.

3901 and 3903 were on their normal 436.

3902 is seen here at the Spectrum. I believe this is the first time a Citaro has made the 101 (excepting of course 3902 making the old route 101 (Ladymead park and ride) in December 2010 due to snow chaos).

The next round of Project Spectrum is set and ready to go! I am so excited to introduce the new theme. Based on the compass rose and the cardinal directions, we will explore the colors that are traditionally associated with the points on the compass.

This year, we will base the exploration around FOUR colors - one for each direction - and participants can combine and mix these colors with any other color. Each direction is also traditionally linked to a natural material, and you can choose to work with these materials for your projects, e.g. glass beads, wooden buttons, metal pins, etc. For deeper interpretation, you can also choose to incorporate the related seasons and elements into your creative projects.

NORTH (March/April)

Color: Green

Material: Stones/Gems/Rocks

Season: Winter

Element: Earth

EAST (May/June)

Color: Yellow

Material: Wood

Season: Spring

Element: Air

SOUTH (July/August)

Color: Red

Material: Metal

Season: Summer

Element: Fire

WEST (September/October)

Color: Blue

Material: Glass

Season: Autumn

Element: Water

I'm going to be doing some handmade ones that are similar to these but for now I'm just playing around.

Very interesting exposure taken with the D40x off Coca Cola Drive during sunset. What I find interesting is the perfect RGB color spectrum produced in the clear sky.

Much better viewed on an LCD, since I do all of my editing on one. CRT makes it look too dark.
