Another view of Spectacle Reef lighthouse on an absolutely calm day. I've photographed lighthouses on the Great Lakes tens of thousands of times and it is very rare to have a day this calm.
You're looking at the Pacific Ocean to the left, consult a map and you'll understand, this is the so called highway of the seas around here. Now that we're halfway through the journey I was starting to relish the thought I have bragging rights of having taken this trip at all. This fellow was fearless: between being perilously close to the power lines and intentionally stalling during the turns, he was quite the spectacle.
The Spectacle is one of the follies of Boughton Park. It dates from 1770 so it has survived almost intact for 241 years. It stands on what was then the eastern boundary of Boughton Park and it is said that Moulton church tower was framed by the arch when viewed from Boughton Park.
MH-53E DRAGON DES MERS
Le Dragon des Mers est l'un des plus gros hélicoptères au monde. Cette version moderne H-53E peut se permettre plusieurs types de missions. Chasseur de mines en milieu marin, remorquage de petits navires, recherche et sauvetage et beaucoup plus. Trois moteurs T-64, lui permettent une très grande vitesse et beaucoup de puissance. Il peut se permettre de poursuivre sa mission même si un moteur flanche. Il est également un ravitailleur pour d'autres appareils en vol. Vous aurez l'occasion de visiter l'intérieur de l'hélico et même prendre des photos du poste de pilotage. Notre invité spécial nous vient de l'escadron HM-14 de la base de Norfolk, en Virginie.
