East Coast HST 43277 approaches with diverted 1S22 King's Cross to Edinburgh express
Centrebus, the owners of Kimes since July 2011, are closing Folkingham depot and rebranding most of the routes under the Centrebus name. Progressively during August 2013 Kimes routes, drivers and buses have transferred to Centrebus depots at Grantham, Saxby and Corby leaving just the four Boston area buses, which work on routes 58 & 59, at Folkingham depot. These two routes pass to Brylaine from 27 August. The last operational day from Folkingham depot was therefore Saturday 24 August.
Friday 23 August 2013 and Olympian YAZ 8773, one of the four Boston area buses still running, loads at Spalding bus Station for the 0840 59 to Boston.

The goal with juggling is simple - always try to beat your personal best score of how many touches you can make without letting the ball fall to the floor. Beginners can start by juggling with the foot, and allowing the football to bounce once between touches. They should progress quickly to not allowing the ball to bounce at all.

Fowlers M17 WAL, DAF SB250/ Northern Counties Palatine 2.
Several of these have been acquired by Fowlers from Wilts & Dorset. There is a sticker on the front nearside window of the vehicle which I presume dates from its days with the previous operator, part of the Go Ahead group.
Class 40 on the LVRC "Trans Pennine" railtour, at Spalding in October 1977.
Today, all the sidings and sheds have vanished, and half of this station and platforms - to the left of the white shelter - has gone, and is now part of a housing estate..
Tower 4ZM448 at Bicker Fen looking north. This is a L12 terminal tower design carrying 400kV 3x700 sq mm 'Araucaria' conductor on both sides. On one side (L) is the Bicker Fen - Spalding North - West Burton circuit whilst on the other (R) is the Bicker Fen - Walpole - West Burton circuit. (By convention substations are listed alphabetically although Bicker Fen is in the middle of these circuits).
On a terminal (or tension tower) the insulator strings connect to the tower horizontally. In the distance is the L6 suspension tower 4ZM449 where the insulator strings can be seen hanging vertically. The conductor hangs between the insulator 'strings' which physically connect to the tower. At the start of each insulator string can be seen a circular arcing 'horn', the purpose of which is to encourage any lightning strike to jump from the ring to the tower rather than through the insulators where it might cause damage to them.
The wind turbines form part of the Bicker Fen wind farm and are Repower MM82 turbines owned by EDF Energy.
