A commission I had, to design and make free-standing hardware for a permanent, interactive sound installation for Cleethorpes Academy, North East Lincolnshire, UK.
The hardware consists of 6 infra-red sensor units and 1 lectern that houses an iPad.
The sensor units pick up and track movement. This is all linked to special iPad software created by David Stevens and Simon Desorgher.
The equipment will predominantly be used to aid music and sound lessons and performances. The interactive system is great for children, as they don’t need dexterity in order to get involved and play with sound.

In this picture, we see large quantities of fish slightly in the sea. And where a midwater trawl is priceless in this fishery.
Unlike a bottom trawl, we wouldn`t have get this fish if using midwater trawl.
Here, in a fury of sound and spray,
the power of roaring water and a
trembling earth meet.
Echoes of timeless battle
assault our senses.

My first output from 'Sound Profiles" project, and my first visualization of audio samples. This graph shows the overlay of several short samples. I still have a lot to learn, but am very much enjoying this research and coding.

susanna said to be adventurous about "showing" our favourite sounds etc so here's my interpretation!
i don't even like this photo--i hate when my nose screws up like that and there's way too many teeth on show but then i saw the rainbow in the background and i knew it was perfect.

Fjord (fiord) Milford Sound, in the south west of New Zealand's South Island, has been called an eighth Wonder of the World.
sail among the mountains, waterfalls, clouds, rains and the sunshines, very nice feeling,,,
naviga sui fiordi in Milford Sound tra le monte, nuvole in continuazione di cambiamenti, tante cascate (grandi permanenti o piccole temporanee causate dalla pioggia), le pioggia, il sole, una meraviglia ....
The sounds of nature tells us many things.
The sounds of nature are our teachers.
The sounds of nature are so soothing
Yet they can be terrifying.
How can we say what nature is?
What do we really know about nature?
So many questions we have asked.
So many have gone unanswered.
So what does the sound of nature means?
We shall never know.
