Last August 5 I was at the Milan Bluegrass Festival. Before the show started the members of Fast Track, a newly-formed band, were on the stage working with the sound crew.
On the stage in this photo are Duane Sparks, with the guitar, and crew member Mike Paige, who was setting up mikes. My daily-project photo, taken a couple minutes after this one, featured Duane, again, and mandolinist Jesse Brock.

(Other) Photos taken on 8/5/2021: My "accounting" model doesn't work during a bluegrass festival since I'm basically taking photographs all day. I took 538 photos with my Olympus during the day, mostly at the festival. I also took 1 photo, of the sunrise, with my phone.
Sound opened like a wound;
I looked — and found my face.
May I meet the one I resist with open hands.
Sound fell away; only light remained.
The Sounds of Summer and a hard-working EMD GP9R as the engineer on ESPN QT-09 gets the train moving to work a few customers.
Dudley Canal No. 2, this was built to join the Dudley No. 1 canal to the Worcester and Birmingham canal. This picture is part of the canal going through Netherton. Taken on my walk today on a rather dreary day weatherwise.
With the prospect of 2 coal trains,2X37s on the flasks and 2X37s on a railtour along the tyne valley line what could go wrong ? Cloud and lots of it! with very little sunshine !

Sound Transit's Sounder commuter service to Lakewood blasts off from Seattle. The commuter train connects communities between Everett and Lakewood via King St Station and is primarily a rush hour direction operation from Seattle.

From our trip to Sitka Alaska for the annual whale festival. While on the water we came across a pod of humpbacks feeding together. It would have been nice if the herring were on the surface so they'd have been lunge feeding, but the herring were at 400 feet according to the depth finder. So they were surfacing and sounding together to go after the feast before heading out to the warmer waters of Hawaii for sex and babies.
At the start of the "Sound of Silence" Trail in Dinosaur National Monument.
The smoke in the air created a warm look to the rocks.

Quickly caught this little Prairie Dog sending out the alarm that people were near. They all scattered to their respective burrows.....sooooo cute.

Black Bears are normally silent animals, but they will make blowing noises (also called woofing or huffing) and clack their teeth (also called jaw popping) when they are agitated or nervous. The woofing sound is actually an air noise (inhaling and exhaling a number of times in rapid succession). In some situations, Black Bears make a moaning sound when they are afraid. They also make bawling sounds, but bawling happens primarily with cubs (although an adult bear may bawl loudly if it is injured).
When you hear a Black Bear vocalizing, it is basically letting you know that it does not feel comfortable with your presence. This should be considered as a warning from the bear that you are too close, and sometimes this behavior can provoke defensive behaviors such as bluff charging or slapping one or both front feet on the ground.
