Oh I wish this still lit up but I can always change the lights! My mom made this in the 70's and it hung in our living room each Christmas till it was no longer in style (or looked too tacky according to my dad lol) so up in the rafters of the garage it went till hubs and I helped my mom with her decorations and found it after all these years - yes it's a bit tacky but I remember so many of the pieces of jewelry ( my dad's cuff links are in there too, I remember playing with them during church) ;D

She wanted to give it away to someone she hardly knew and I said no way!!!! I may do something with it or one of the grand kids may want it! It's safe for now :D

Thanks everyone for the Explore and all the favs and comments!

You can’t get much redder than this Volkswagen Beetle. Although, the lady who got out of it was wearing a bright red sweater. I couldn’t move fast enough to get her in the shot too. I was more interested in getting to breakfast at a little place around the corner. We’d walked past the place on Saturday and there was a line outside the door. It was definitely worth going to today. I had biscuits and gravy with a spicy, cheesy sauce. It was a classic diner with a counter and being in New Orleans a couple of slot machines.

Today's the day for the "Something Red" challenge in our ohiofoothills group. This is #1 of my 2 entries, and I'm still undecided on #2. The red, of course, are the red oak leaves peeking from the snow, and sprouting up throughout the photo. However, the red isn't quite as visible with the soft focus. When I was lucky enough to get this unique shot last month, I knew it would be my Valentine's Day entry on flickr.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Flickr friends.

I was not intentionally looking for RED and I knew: There's so much beautiful RED every where (II had only to take a look at our ODC-Group-Fotos).

It was a busy day for me today, so enjoy this red cart I photographed at Target this afternoon.

Picture with selective colouring in the style of the British painter Richard Telford. He uses a primarily monochrome palate for his urban cityscapes apart from a single splash of trademark red.

A button off the push button in the hospital. My husband Dave made it thru his shoulder surgery. Quite a bad injury and had to stay the night.
