The Anastasia Formation extends for 2 miles north along the shoreline with cliffs up to 15 feet high at the House of Refuge. Looking south from the end of the boardwalk, Bathtub Reef is visible.
Immediately ahead is an outcrop with small burrows, aminated crusts, solution pipes, a notch and an abrasion platform, and a mass of collapsed rock. Moving north along the beach moving toward the House of Refuge, there are several outcrops with conspicuous notches.
At the House of Refuge are prominent planar bedding, many fossils (including Busycon), small and large burrows, thick laminated calcium carbonate crusts, lithified infillings, solution pipes, notched cliffs, promontories and small coves, and many large masses of collapsed bedrock.

I have been very busy but I wanted to make up a little for the time I was absent. So here is more from my archives. I hope you guys like it. :)
This is not HDR work. This was shot in RAW and tone curved in Lightroom. I liked it more like this since it resembles the actual scene that I saw that day. All my captures are usually shot in RAW and I like that since I have a great control in processing. We all know how cameras capture shots with a lot of contrast in light :( But this is my solution.

Despite all the capabilities we have, there are things we cannot overcome. Dreams come true, if you want it - this is the world of adults. What about the children? How is in their world? Perhaps, we - older, much more mature people - build the walls which block children with their dreams and desires...
Is there any solution? I hope so...
This is my solution for remote interval shooting with the Panasomic LX3. My objective: have the LX3 shoot at 10-second intervals while mounted on the top of a 10-meter-long pole or suspended from a kite.
The LX3 lacks a wired or infrared remote capability so my approach was to add a "psuedo finger" moved by a model aircraft servo. The timing and servo management are handled by a Gent360 Servo ( www.gentles.ltd.uk/gent360/order.htm ), a tiny circuit that rotates the servo arm through a 45 degree swing every ten seconds. The circuit and servo are powered by a 4.8 VDC 2/3 AAA battery pack.
The three components are fixed to a small strip of aluminum that is mounted to the LX3 hot shoe and held in place by friction. Total weight for the intervalometer with battery is 2-1/4 oz. (64 grams). Works the charm.

Addendum: In order to use the remote for photographs that have a decisive moment I have adapted an inexpensive wireless doorbell to serve as a "shoot now" override for the intervalometer. Press the doorbell and the camera will take three quick shots.
In the meantime, James Gentles has introduced a new product in support of this approach -- the gentled autoFINGER. This variant of the GentLED series provides an easily adjustable interval (3-30 seconds) for the servo's movement and provision for manual override through switch closure. I ran a test with the 4.8 VDC 2/3 AAA 370 mAh NiMH battery pack. It cycled the intervalometer for 25 hours or the equivalent of 9,000 exposures. The little 1/3 AAA pack should work just fine.
Solutions for all of those tablescraps I posted awhile back! Most of them are fairly self explanatory, I think. The 2x2 box with tiles on top and plates on the sides should have some sort of small piece (I used two tooth pieces) wedged between the round tiles and the top tile.

A technology that has shielded some of NASA’s highest-profile space observatories from potentially harmful molecular contamination is now being evaluated as a possible solution for protecting the Smithsonian Institution’s cultural artifacts and natural-science specimens.
Under a Space Act Agreement with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History, Nithin Abraham, a thermal-coatings engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and museum conservators are testing the effectiveness of the patent-pending Molecular Adsorber Coating, or MAC. Goddard engineers originally created the technology to entrap outgassed molecular contaminants so that they couldn’t adhere to sensitive instruments and components.

- antennal seta 1-A multiple, attached near the middle of the shaft
- head hairs 5 and 6 multibranched
- comb scale rounded apically
- siphon with an even row of single setae attached distally to pecten teeth
- saddle complete
- anal segment seta 1 as long as or longer than saddle
Adult Female:
- proboscis long and weakly recurved
- abdominal terga dark brown with yellowish-white basal bands widening lateraly to width of the segment
- hindtarsomeres intermixed with light and dark scales
- costa, subcosta, and radius intermixed with light and drk scales
It appears that Mother Nature has first stripped this leaf from its tree and now is devouring the leaf with a white insect. Of course it is hoarfrost, but I like my fantasies.

The first thing to say is that each electronic sensor has a protective filter over it, so we are not actually touching the electronics. That would be a disaster. Most people send the camera off for a service and a clean and that's a very good idea. After all this is an expensive investment and we want to make sure our camera works as well as possible for as long as it can.
But, it is quite easy to clean your sensor at home. All you need is a kit (like the one I've shown). This includes sealed sterile swabs and a little cleaning fluid (they are essential - do not try to clean your sensor with a cloth where you can scratch the dust into the sensor filter). There are also many videos on YouTube showing you how to use these dust cleaning swabs, but provided you get the right size for your camera (mine is full frame) a simple swipe will suffice.
For a DSLR you obviously need to lock your mirror up before the clean, and then lower it immediately afterwards. Then with the other side of the swab give your mirror a quick wipe as well. Do not apply too much pressure. After all, these are only tiny dust particles - you should not have any dirt.
My Leica D-Lux 7 which I used to take these pictures has a fixed lens, so it will never need its micro-four-thirds sensor cleaned.
