An improvement on my similar 010207 shot, I think.

My RL mom is from Okinawa so I went to the Okinawa summer festival. They had a shamisen in a gacha and it actually strums a tune. Just so awesome!
I tried to get the tide coming in but kept crashing. My computer does not like shadows! So this was just before my 5th crash (hey, I'm stubborn!) so I called it a day. I liked hte way the water shimmered under my dock. I probably should photoshop it a little but I'm going to go take a nap instead.

My camp site at Rules Beach Bush Camp October 2019 on an expedition evaluating local real estate on offer.
Now closed it was a great retro camping experience with almost no lack of amenities left out of the experience !!
It also had the distinction of being further from the beach than any other beach camp.
Did I mention the great clouds of sand flies and mosquitos to keep you entertained at morning and dusk and the smelly algae filled dam they bred them in.
What an experience, it left me scratching for weeks.

Late October red sky hunting led to pedal power miles in the morning, before the clouds took over the rest of the day. I'm glad I took the chance on a chilly morning spin.

Of course, as Summer comes to a close, we're in our first official heat wave of the season. And we're in a mild drought. So between the heat and lack of rain, almost everything is wilting and/or coming to an early demise.
Except for the sunflowers and zinnias(!) who both seem to love the heat and the sun and are thriving.
I love my clothesline and have one wherever I live - today the clothes are freezing more than drying

BNSF/GN SD45-2B #6523 is among a handful of long-stored units in Topeka that were dragged out and into the yard. Supposedly, these are headed down to Memphis, via KC on Tuesday for eventual scrapping.
This particular unit was originally one of the Santa Fe Bicentennial units, the ATSF 5701.
The rest of the cut was as follows:
SD9-3 1552
SD45-2B 6520
SD45-2 6516
SD45-2 6484
SD45-2B 6523

As I am currently exceptionally busy with work for the next two weeks I am not going to have time to make my normal morning post in full so am just posting a couple of contemporary examples in the morning each day for now. As a result I am now going to make an additional evening post for the next two weeks featuring historical images of continental garages which I hope will prove interesting. This is to fill in time whilst I continue to labour away preparing a vast array of newly arrived vintage images which are currently being scanned and processed ready to post.
Here we have Japan's first and possibly the world's first solar powered petrol station - seems a bit of a contradiction in terms to have a business solar powered which is selling masses of fossil fuels - if they were trying to use that as a marketing strategy to show how green they are then I reckon I give them a fail! It is still though an interesting photo and shows the great Eliot Noyes canopy and pump designs nicely. One can also see the large solar cells at the back of the site. It is also clearly a Japanese car fest as well. I reckon that's a police officer standing by the dark car which is presumably a Japanese police car but I'm not sure of the model. I'm not sure of what the large object is far left and there appears to have been quite a spillage at the nearest pump island to the right!

1965 Red Dale truck camper is basically a little cabin that slides into the back of a pickup truck. Cabin on wheels. The truck is a 2000 Ford F350 with 4 wheel drive that has saved us from getting stuck a few times. My husband, Dave and I have completely refurbed the camper and done a lot of updates on the truck as well. This rig has now seen us through 12,000 miles of travel and living in the USA and Mexico.
