The Hinode satellite observing our sun captured images of the moon traversing the face of the sun during a solar eclipse this week.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, a total eclipse of the Sun was visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow began in India and crossed through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crossed Japan's Ryukyu Islands and curved southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reached 6 minutes and 39 seconds. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean.

A solar mirror faces the New Mexico sunset at the National Solar Thermal Test Facility (NSTTF) at Sandia Labs. The NSTTF is the only test facility of this type in the United States.
The primary goal of the NSTTF is to provide experimental engineering data for the design, construction, and operation of unique components and systems in proposed solar thermal electrical plants planned for large-scale power generation.

I down'd tools for a couple of minutes and headed out into the works yard for a quick snap, shame I couldn't be out in a better spot with some foreground or landscape setup but still good to see.

Lots of energy around our home especially when Lewis is running about! However, he's got a "bad" cold today and wasn't feeling like running about and showing off all of that energy.

Το ζωδιακό φως είναι πολύ πιο ευδιάκριτο από το αντιζωδιακό και είναι διακριτό πριν την λήξη του σκοταδιού (έναρξη αστρονομικού λυκαυγούς, με αστρονομικούς όρους) στη φθινοπωρινή ισημερία στην Ανατολή και μετά την έναρξη του σκοταδιού (λήξη αστρονομικού λυκόφωτος) στην εαρινή ισημερία, στη Δύση. Ενώ το αντιζωδιακό οφείλει την ύπαρξή του στα σωματίδια που βρίσκονται πέρα από την τροχιά της Γης, τα σωματίδια του ζωδιακού βρίσκονται μεταξύ Γης και Ερμή. Φυσικά, και τα δύο "φώτα" ορίζουν έναν μεγαλειώδες δίσκο που τον βλέπουμε σε τομή: Το επίπεδο της Εκλειπτικής, δηλαδή το επίπεδο της περιφοράς της Γης γύρω από τον Ήλιο!!!
Στακάρισμα 12 λήψεων, όπως αυτές πάρθηκαν στις 13/10/2013, από τις 05:47 έως τις 06:01.
Στοιχεία κάθε λήψης:
f/2.8, 80s, ISO1000, 11mm, με φακό Tokina 11-16 και σώμα Canon EOS 7D πάνω σε ισημερινή (piggyback). Επιπλέον, 7 σκοτεινά κάδρα, στακάρισμα Deep Sky Stacker και τελική επεξεργασία Lightroom 4.4.
