For Macro Mondays: "Treasured"

This one was taken at the Lincoln County Photo Festival while waiting to start a nightscape workshop I was to be teaching with David Swindler. Captured during the dwindling light of sunset on a cloudless evening in the Gorge. "Sometimes you have to slow down and observe the details in order to see the light."

Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, I am always grateful for your views, comments, faves, and support, they are truly appreciated!! Have a great day my friends!! :)

I'm looking forward to summer :-)

I wrestled with this one for a long time. Not sure about the light, composition and frustrated that I don't have something other than Picasa to edit with. (Not that I would know how to do it!) So, give I can do no more, here's a local fisherman trying for the "big one" at sundown.

Easy soft light to end the day at Perch Rock lighthouse.

The Lady’s Walk, Montacute, on a beautiful, misty September morning.

You do me (and hopefully yourself) a big favour by pressing L and then F11, to view at maximum size.

The colors of spring I've been waiting for, especially the dame's rockets here in all the lush green.

Thank you for your kind comments, faves and invitations and please, do not post photos in the comment box. Have a great week!

The valley above The village of Montacute, Somerset. This is private land with a public path that links this farmland to National Trust land, (the most distant field across the valley and at the foot of St Michael’s Hill, the wooded hill on the right).

A branch of the path also takes the walker to Ham Hill road and across to Witcombe Valley, part of Ham Hill County Park.

Temperatures on the plus side today but it kept on snowing so there were these really nive lines and circles on the ice.

I can't even tell you how many pictures I took for this theme. I could not think of anything that seemed abstract enough. I finally narrowed it down to this image and another and ultimately, this one won.

I don't know if it is just me or not but is anyone else having a very difficult time thinking of images to do for the themes lately??

I dedicate this image (a macro of a small portion of a decorative wooden star with small LEDs embedded in star-shaped cut-outs within it) to the memory of Hans Holt (www.flickr.com/photos/77411963@N07), who was one of the administrators of the group Macro Mondays, for which I took this image for today's theme 'Star'.

I took a ton of shots for this theme. I was inspired in so many ways. With a little help on the decision making, I picked this image to post. Although, it did not end well. The entire balloon ended up in a fiery inferno on my hard wood floors! Good thing I was prepared for such a mishap. ;)

Sandhill Cranes illuminated by the weak winter sun.

A very calm and easy morning at the beach of the resort I was staying. And the great benefit of seeing the sun come up in the summer, is that you have the whole place for yourself.

Yummy little blueberry cake donut hole. It was my husband's idea to take a small bite out of it, for added interest of course, hehe.
