This sod house is a recreation of the type of homes that were built by the early pioneers in the Central Plains Region.

On a recent getaway to West Virginia, we spent one day in the Dolly Sods Wilderness... unique and beautiful! Lots of rhododendron, mountain laurel, and wind-blown red spruce. The temperature is about ten degrees cooler up there than in the lower valleys, which meant we had perfect weather for hiking, and the turning leaves were beautiful too; I loved how the brilliant reds contrasted with the dark green of the spruces...
