A flock of Black Vultures decided to fly by last night as I was capturing moon shots. They seem to be abiding by the new social distancing guidelines.

Tech. Sgt. Sarah Mitchell, 323rd Training Squadron military training instructor, briefs U.S. Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper during his tour of the 323rd Training Squadron's Airman Training Complex June 16, 2020, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Esper met with AETC leaders to see firsthand how Basic Military Training is fighting through COVID-19 with health protection measures in place and adapting operations to current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidance. The visit also allowed him to witness how a citizen becomes an Airman during COVID-19. (U.S. Air Force photo by Johnny Saldivar)

Gord, Heather’s dad, came over a few days ago to get a network cable, and we did some social distance visiting. I found myself really struggling with the idea that he could be a threat to us, or us to him. My brain recognizes him as “family”, and therefore “Safe”. It feels inconceivable that he could be anything otherwise, despite the fact that we must assume the worst, for everyone’s safety. I understand much better why people are having such a hard time really grokking this new reality; our brains just aren’t wired to interpret threats in this way.

We hear about people who, having decided they are all been asymptomatic for long enough, or just can’t bear to live without each other, are expanding their shelter in place bubbles to include multiple households, with multiple family members, all of whom practice safe distancing, and protective hygiene with different levels of diligence and effectiveness. It got me thinking about how people are making decisions about who they’re going to die with, which is a rubber meets the road way of saying: those they can’t, or won’t, live without. Which is some pretty heavy stuff to consider, but I guess that’s the dystopian Sci-Fi novel come to life that we’re all living in. #socialdistancing #shelterinplace #dystopiannow #fujifilmx100f #family

As the status of vaccine distribution changes and guidance from the national and state authorities is adjusted, old signs are removed and new ones appear; in this case, at the grocery store in Lowell, Michigan on May 25.

Full of things that I do NOT consume anymore (I'm avoiding sugar).

Social distancing this past Fall at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois

So much has changed so quickly. We now live in a world dominated by some virus that's been reported as deadly. California's and New Yorker's have been told to stay inside and practice social distancing when in public.

Day III - 36 (of 40) - Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 - Photographer Russell McNeil PhD (Physics) lives on Vancouver Island, where he works as a writer.

Social distancing, North Vancouver style.

Vegetables and a lemon tree potted on our back deck - spinach,

kale, snow peas, rhubarb. Unlikely to feed a family but something to do during home lockdown.

On March 11, 2021 a coalition of healthcare advocacy community organizations gathered outside Pfizer Worldwide Headquarters in Manhattan to call on the Biden administration to push pharmaceutical companies to commit to equitable global vaccine distribution and help end the pandemic everywhere by supporting the waiver of the World Trade Organization’s monopoly protections for Big Pharma and the COVID-19 Technology Access Pool and to ensure an equitable vaccine distribution throughout the world.
