Home care workers, seniors, and people with disabilities held a rally at the Fordham Bus Plaza in the Bronx on March 12, 2021 in support of the “Fair Pay for Home Care Act,” (S5374) thanking the State Senators who have already supported the bill and urging legislative leadership to include the measure in the state budget. The Fair Pay for Home Care Act, sponsored by Senator Rachel May and Assemblymember Richard Gottfried, would raise home care wages to 150% of the minimum wage⎯ allowing home care workers to make at least $35,000 a year on average. Office lunches are done with social distancing and masks. PPE debris continues to accumulate on streets. Some teenagers comply with proper facial coverings. As long as NYC is permitted to exercise in the park, and I can maintain at least 6 feet of distance between myself and my fellow humans, I'm posting 10 photos a day here: www.instagram.com/ayun_halliday/

Garage Piano (2 of 7)

I have no idea what type of plant this is - it is just enough to see the relentless bursting forth of new growth and fresh beauty.
Social distancing has meant lots of time at a computer screen and some of it looking through old images. This was taken just about a year ago. Right now that seems a long long time ago. But Tennyson wrote the line used in the title of this image at a time of great sorrow for him and that was almost 200 springs ago.
A simple sprouting twig gives hope of better, sunnier, days ahead.
