A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now!
This is not the true story... and finally the bike was left in the 1950's... complete information here
Near this park is a river where there is a Tidal Wave Festival. (The river overflows there at predictable times.) Pictures of this event were sent around after the Tsunami event in December 2004. The link below is to the Snopes page explaining this misrepresentation with some interesting photos:
BTDubs, Snopes and the new guy (who we suspect may be one of Motherlode's kittens we missed last year) are fed under this boat every day. Don't tell the owner, but I'm pretty sure they're sleeping inside it too!
Do red cars really get more speeding tickets? According to Snopes.com, the answer is no, but the owner of this 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible isnβt taking any chances! He had the team at our West Carrollton store install an Escort Passport 8500CI Plus radar detector with laser shifter sensors, just to be on the safe side. If you could use a custom-installed radar detector of your own, then visit any of our three locations (Beavercreek, North Dixie/Stereo-In-Dash, and West Carrollton/Moraine) to learn more or to schedule your own professional installation.

KEEP GOOD COMPANY ONLINE.
* DON'T read blog comments. If you read blog post comment threads, please for goodness sake stop. This will damage your level of sanity more than almost any single act.
* DO talk to your friends but...
* DON'T read their forwarded junk emails. Just because you love Aunt Sue doesn't mean she's fact-checked her spam. Breathless and delusional emails have done an amazing amount to damage our civic debate. (Note that you can write anything in an email. Try it, open a brand new email and just start typing...)
* DO make SNOPES.COM one of your favorite sites. If you do want to fact check an email, check out www.snopes.com a truly wonderful source.
* DON'T pay too much attention to web sources (or any other) that has a fixed point of view. For example, do they always hate all Republicans/Democrats? Will they ever change their mind? If not, why are you paying attention to them?
* DO use solid fact-check websites like Politifact and FactCheck.org

2010 June 3 - Snopes.com's twinkies shelf life article claims Hostess says twinkies explode after 45 seconds in the microwave.

Sadly, twinkies don't explode after 45 seconds in a 900W microwave. They ooze.
I would like that man and that rabbit to be part of our client relationship team.
I would also like to point out that the rabbit is completely real. There is even a Snopes article about it.

In this episode of "What The Fox?" I have completely revamped the show to make it a little more time conservative and changed the scenery a little. I talk about a black and white caterpillar that has quite the affect on people. The story goes that if you touch one, you will experience a severe rash and in some cases swelling and nausea. Should you and your kids be avoiding these cute little fuzzy critters? Find out in this revised episode of What The Fox?
