Pact Pic #19 -- Totally wasn't going to waste my time. However....

Contrary to popular belief, lovebugs were not genetically engineered at the University of Florida as a species predatory to mosquito larvae.

In feminist protests women would burn their bras and I got the idea from them. The focal point would be the fire on the bra. I pushed myself to be creative by not just doing something easy and simple I used fire and it wasn’t easy. I took the picture outside my front yard. I used the flashlight on the camera. I didn’t use any tripods or reflectors. I had to create a fire. I used photoshop and what I did was select everything around the bra and made it blurry. I didn’t use text. My message in this picture is feminism and also that women shouldn’t have to wear bras. In 1968 miss America pageant spawned a decade of bra burning by feminists as means of calling attention to their cause www.snopes.com/fact-check/feminist-bra-burning/ .

The connection between me and the cause is that I am kind of a feminist and I think that if a women doesn’t want to wear a bra then she shouldn’t have to. There is no specific mood you should have when you look at this picture just understand the message. The message is just meaning that the world makes it seem that women have to wear bras, when a women doesn’t wear a bra people will point it out or ask questions like it’s a bad thing when it’s not. Burning the bra is the most successful aspect because that was the point. The least successful thing was the background because it wasn’t a good background, to fix it I could choose a different background or photoshop one in. The most difficult part was taking a picture in time so the bra didn’t burn my moms hand. I did achieve it. What i learned from this project is the history about it.

Jackson Square

New Orleans, Louisiana

I had heard that the number of hooves raised on a statue indicated how the subject died. Wanting to know a little more, I Googled "military horse statues" and found a Snopes.com (one of my favorite websites) article entitled Statue of Limitations. Turns out the legend is false, and this particular statue of Andrew Jackson is proof. Two hooves off the ground apparently means that the rider died in battle; however, AJ died of natural causes in 1845.

A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now!

This is not the true story... and finally the bike was left in the 1950's... complete information here

This was a beautiful purebred dalmatian, young too. This was the second-most emaciated dog I saw at the pound. I forgot about the quarantine and the indoor kennels since they North Central Shelter opened their outdoor Pasadena-Humane-Society-type set up.

It appears they put their most likely candidates for adoption outside in the sunshine, and the sick, unsocial, and troubled pups hang out in the indoor cement kennels. Some are back there because they're nursing mamas, but others are just there for a few days before they're put to sleep and tossed in the dumpster.

If you're able to adopt, don't forget about these guys... they need you more.

Reminded me of this email Saelee sent me about this poor puppy:

Snopes says it's unconfirmed, but it's still crappy and this guy should be doing A LOT for animals to make up for such an irresponsible piece. The people that saw the dog in the gallery who didn't intervene can also suck it.

It has been a busy day, I'm so sleepy I could fall asleep right now. The disgusted look on my face is from something I was looking at on the internet, something about an "artist" using a starving dog as his exhibition, I even looked it up on snopes.com and they couldn't tell whether it was true or false. I didn't like the picture I took of me with my brother, so I had to come up with another one quick, since I'm fading fast and want to crawl into bed. sigh. To top it all off, Dan forgot his birthday card here, NUTS!!! He didn't even get to open it yet. sigh. Nighty night everyone.

These are made with marzipan....really unbelievable!

This is Snopes, he lived across the street from our home in a lot that has been vacant for 35 years. A few days ago developers came in, cleared out all the junked cars, cut down all the trees and put up a construction fence. There are several other cats here we've cared for almost 10 years. We are trying to trap them so they'll be safe during construction of whatever monstrosity gets built here. Snopes got trapped right away, still no sign of the others yet. We'll keep trying until the snow starts. #feralcat #tnr #feralrelocation bit.ly/2CsZPGK

www.snopes.com/crime/gangs/sneakers.htm doesn't even know what these shoes mean, but I've always heard it was to announce the presence of a nearby crack house. For those in the know: Is the quality of crack so advertised proportional to the cost of the shoe?
