I was actually interested in the structure of the beautiful Californian Lilac, the hoverfly photobombed me!
Kingfisher is a wild one taken by me,Sardines bought by me and photographed on my kitchen worktop.l've wanted to do a picture like this for ages ,but it took me forever to capture a Kingfisher in the wild shot of my own.The rest of it is just a bit of fun really.
This beautiful little owl is a Cloud-forest Pygmy Owl and they are only found on the Pacific slope of the Western Andes of Colombia and Ecuador. The population of mature individuals is estimated to be just 2,500 - 9,999.
I was very excited that we were able to observe this owl for several minutes. Photographing it with this cicada was a bonus!

The beautiful Chevroned Parakeet was photographed on our last trip to The Patanal , Brazil. They are not large in size but very beautiful with a touch of yellow on the outer wing. It is always great fun to capture a new species !!!

Summer time even butterflies like to have a snack. Warm outside and no rain today. Just right for “”Snack Time” in our garden. I had a cold drink and watched as several butterflies enjoyed themselves. Thanks for viewing my photos.

This chipmunk had a pretty nice setup at the top of observation point in Zion National Park, Utah. As hikers stopped to enjoy the view, it would run around where they sat looking for food scraps. While you should not feed the animals, occasionally someone unknowingly drops a scrap and the chipmunks play clean up. This particular chipmunk did just that as someone near us dropped part of their snack.

I watched this mallard hen try to eat this large acorn (?). She tried and tried, but eventually just dropped it.
