A surprise snake, just outside Granny's house. As it had been chased up a tree by a dog and was happy to hang up there eyeballing us, I had enough time to run back and grab my camera, handily fitted with the 100mm macro lens still.

I've seen snakes there before, but only as they were vanishing into the undergrowth or a hole in a wall. This is a pretty unusual and exciting find!

Elisha's started on semi-solid food since she turned 6 months. This was home made rice cereal which I started off with, next I gave her khichdi and now she's on banana, which she likes most of all.

Lindsay came over to watch returns. I put out comforting foods (well, comforting to me anyway): pepper sausage, brie, green apple, blue cheese, and honey (for the blue cheese). Plus I made this baked ziti (my favorite), and Caro's oatmeal cookies (though mine did not stay soft, sadly).

A snack for all time; Apom Balik / Dai Gau Min / Ban Chang Kuih in Ipoh Garden East, this nameless stall operated by Mr Choy only in the afternoons. www.j2kfm.com
