I try to prepare or give the twins healthier snack options.
Orange and apple slices wrapped in Belgian endive topped with crumbled blue cheese and few pieces of craisins.
It is nice to have many natural seeds around our house, which gives better photos than of the birds feeding from the bird feeder.
Here is a blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) from the archive outside our house. Today, we had six beauitful adult goldfinches (stillits in Norwegian) outside the same way.
And now we have just returned home from a road trip to photograph many nice birds in autumn-coloured hedges, like many long-tailed tits (stjertmeis).
This is a nice time of year as well!

A great white egret performs a successful plunge to score a tasty snack. The movement is so lightning fast, lucky for me, the wings come out to provide some balance. While it may seem like this is an isolated event, I am always amazed of the success despite a murky surface - how does one see through that?!?
So thrilled and honored to share that this is one of three of my photos that will be featured in the 2025 Nine Mile Creek Watershed annual calendar. The Watershed district is the water run-off region southwest of Minneapolis. Enjoy!
